Seeking support for my Furry Friend

Hello, totally new to this subreddit so please let me know if any further info is needed..

Tl;dr - Cat is very sick and his vet bills are destroying me. https://www.gofundme.com/f/dylan-emergency-vet-bills

Basically, my cat has been going through an illness lately, this has bought a substantial vet bill along with it.

So far, bills are over £900. Baseline testing, antibiotics and pain medication and follow up appointments have all staked up to an amount that I simply can't manage. Every single penny of savings has already gone into this but because of the nature of the illness, it can't be diagnosed without either a CT or MRI. These cost thousands to have done and then the actual treatment for him would then cost even more.

The antibiotics appear to be doing something so far, leading the vets to think that he has an abscess behind his eye. This is potentially good news as there is a chance that the antibiotics could clear it away. However, there is always a chance that they could plateau after the course ends and the abscess could return bigger than before and the cycle will just go round and round.

If it isn't an abscess, the most likely diagnosis is a tumour. This will need surgery to clear.

Right now, im trying to focus on just diagnosing him and keeping him comfortable. Then I can focus on getting him better.

Outside of organising fundraisers, I started a GoFundMe page at the encouragement of my friend for far-away people to donate to.

Any extra funds I manage to raise will be forwarded on to another vet bill for someone in need. All I ask is that if you're able to give a few pounds ,that's incredible. If you can't donate, please share the page with people you know. Spreading the word really does help more than people think it does.

Thank you all in advance and good luck to all of those also struggling right now x

Seeking support for my furry friend

Hello kind people of Reddit.

Im currently trying to raise some money for my 4 year old cat, Dylan.

He is currently on a strong course of antibiotics to rule out infection but he is in need of a CT or MRI to diagnose the issue. Bills are already over £800 and rising.

If you can, please share with as many people as you're able to. The more people that see it, the higher the chances of finding some help. Im also going to be hosting a Twitch stream fundraiser over the next few days.

Myself and friends have so far raised £167

Thank you all in advance x

Which foods did you avoid for years only to try it and find out you actually like it?

Just eaten my first beef and tomato pot noodle and im very pleasantly surprised!! Hadn't had a pot noodle of any flavour in about 20 years but being a broke a** bi*ch right now, desperate times have indeed come calling!!!

This particular flavour was sat around my kitchen because I mistakenly bought the wrong flavour for someone else. Figured I might as well try it as I needed to eat at least something today and now I find a new struggle meal I can add to my repertoire!!

Please help Dylan get diagnosed and treated

https://gofund.me/0696d1477

Hi everyone, this is my cat Dylan.

Dylan has become very unwell recently, not eating, extremely sleepy and weak, hiding away and not even attempting to eat his favourite treats. He is currently being assessed by his vet and she has diagnosed him with an optical problem (inner eyelid) but she is sure there is something else wrong with him and is doing further bloods and X-rays under sedation to try and figure out what's happening to my buddy.

So far, his bills are up to £700 and despite having some savings, due to an illness that took me out of work for a week last month, I simply dont have the funds to cover this and survive myself.

If you can please share this around as far as you can, or you're able to give a quid or two, I'd be most appreciative.

Thank you in advance x

Greatest opening of all time?

I have 2 suggestions for greatest opening to a movie and I honestly cannot choose between them for different reasons.

First up has to be Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. That first 10 or so minutes of exposition should feel overwhelming, but it is a masterclass of world building. You get the history, some key characters introduced like Elrond and Sauron and the cut to Hobbiton to give the true scale of the journey ahead... absolutely no notes.

The second is Prince of Egypt. Considered one of, if not the best, animated movie ever made. The visuals, the story telling and the world building and, of course, THE MUSIC!!!

I can't find any fault in either and so I can't choose my nomination

New Hidgens

Potential spoilers for West End performances

Oh dear lord, I can't sing this guys praises enough.

The acting choices, physicality, and line delivery are absolute perfection. The gun movement, the Mo-a-na moment, the ENTIRE performance of SSN.

Robert who?

Best Hidgens for me, above Will too (I've only seen the digital ticket, not the proshot, however) and definitely better than Robert Manion. Robert may have set the bar but Iván Fernández González raised it higher than ever expected.

Im sad that I'll never see his performance again but I am blessed to have seen it tonight.

Starkid, please come and tour London more 💚
