Are people just massively oblivious or just don't give a damn??

We went to the mall today and my oldest (3F) wanted to go play on the little playground thing. So we get there, take her shoes off and off she goes. Not long after, these two women come up with 4 boys, and send them in, right past the giant green sign that says "this playground is for children under 42" in height, you must be shorter than the arrow to play". One of the kids was probably only a couple inches over it, but the oldest one was towering over it, he was taller than the floor of the treehouse structure. He was also standing there shoving one of the smaller boys up the slide for almost 5 minutes while my daughter was waiting at the top so she could go down. The two bigger kids would sit and block stuff, and run full force around the small area, knocking into people. The parents weren't even paying attention 90% of the time and then the few times they were they were actually encouraging the youngest one (probably 2-2.5) to climb up the slide, while there were others waiting to go down it, and calling him a good baby for doing it.

I understand it sucks when your kids want to play and some of them are too big for the area, but it is a play structure for SMALL children. There are height limits and requirements at certain places for a reason, to uphold the integrity of the play equipment, and to maintain safety for those using it. The structure is not designed for my 11 month old, so she doesn't play on it, it's literally that simple.

Idk, maybe it's not that big of a deal, but as someone who is trying to teach my kids to be respectful and follow the rules, seeing other people just let their kids do as they please because it's more convenient for them, is annoying and frustrating. I want my children to be kind, respectful, and courteous of others, but seeing how many people just let their kids be bulldozers is really discouraging. I'm trying to teach her to stand up for herself too, but she's 3, it's a hard thing to do, especially when most people are bigger than you.

Toddler shoe sizes are stupid.

Anyone else hate toddler shoe sizing? My 3 year old recently outgrew about 90% of her size 6c shoes, so I purchased a few size 7c in the same brand and styles as her most worn (now outgrown) shoes. Well, they're too big. She needs a 6.5 but toddler shoes dont generally have half sizes, so we're stuck with either shoes that are too small or too big. She's petite and grows fairly slow so we don't go up sizes super often, I'm just annoyed that I can't find very many shoes that will fit her properly. Does anyone else have this problem or does my kid just have odd feet 🤣.

How often are y'all using diaper rash cream?

So, I only ever use it if ya know, there's signs of a rash starting/already flared up. However, my MIL has insisted since my first (3yr) was born, that it needs to be applied with EVERY SINGLE DIAPER.

Any time I forgot the cream and she watched my oldest (the littlest one hasn't been away from me yet) she would make sure I knew I forgot it. And when I asked if she had a rash she would tell me "no, but she'd never get a rash if you actually put it on every time."

I was taught it was for treating rashes, not preventing rashes. Was I taught wrong? Is she being excessive? She can be a bit much with stuff so I have a hard time sometimes with deciphering if something is actually as ridiculous as I think, or if I'm overreacting about it. She also SLATHERS it on and I'm thinking it's a massive waste of bum cream 😅

I'm not mad about her using it or anything it's more about the tone from her. Acting like she's smarter and a better mom because apparently her children never had a rash because she put bum cream a half inch thick on after every change.

Akways cleaning but nothing's clean.

Does anyone else ever feel like you're literally always cleaning SOMETHING but nothing is really ever clean?

I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old and they get into EVERYTHING. I pick up, or have the toddler pick up if it's a reasonable thing for her to do, and then within 5 minutes a new mess is in the old ones place.

Dishes? I wash them everyday (by hand, I am the dishwasher, yay me), but there's always more because well, gotta eat.

Laundry? So. Much. Laundry. And I swear it's like a scavenger across the house for all the tiny socks.

My husband tries to help but he works a lot so that I can stay home with the kids, so he's not really able to help much. Plus, I love him, he can't remember where a dang thing goes. He will end up just putting it where he thinks it goes, because he's embarrassed that we've lived here for 5 years and he still cannot remember where certain things go, and will not ask me where to put it. So then I end up having to put it away anyway 😅.

I also have ADHD so that definitely does NOT help. I'll get massive amounts of things done one day and then I'm hanging on for dear life the next.

Does it ever get better? Or am I doomed to live in a perpetual cycle of always cleaning, never clean.

MIL does annoying thing at every party I bake for. Am I overreacting by being heavily annoyed?

Edited to add: Okay, I'm overreacting, I'll just make extra, extra cupcakes 🤣. Enjoy my lil tizzy I worked myself into while baking yesterday.

So I'm just kind of venting because I was running around working on party stuff all day and worrying about having enough cupcakes for everyone.

So, I love to bake and as long as I'm not super busy, I tend to be the designated cake/cupcake baker for my side of the family. Well apparently my MIL really likes the cupcakes, which is awesome, I'm glad. BUT, she always takes like 4 right off the bat, I mean before pretty much anyone else has had a chance to get one.

Now, I do always try to make sure there are extras to account for dropping some (lots of young, clumsy, kids lol) and for the inevitable family members that were invited but never confirmed they were coming. But I by no means make enough for everyone to have 2, that just seems excessive since there's other stuff to eat too. So it really irritates me that she takes so many immediately, without waiting to make sure everyone has had a chance to get one if they'd like.

I'll also note that I've ONLY noticed her doing this at parties she knows I baked at. She will literally grab 4 cupcakes for herself and then at the end if there's any left over she will take MORE. Now generally speaking I don't mind if anyone wants to take stuff home, less space being taken up in my fridge, but I literally have had tell her that the child whose birthday it is, would like to take a cupcake home, and she has all of them stacked on a plate.

Also I wouldn't mind to just make her a batch for herself, but she's actually kind of a health nut (but in the weirdest ways I swear) and always says that my desserts have too much processed sugar (she replaces everything with honey or maple syrup and cuts the amount in half). So I'm not doing it unless she asks. She also rarely ever contributes anything but her presence and a gift to the party (which is fine) so it's not like she has a reason to feel entitled to more due to having put more time or money in than the other guests.

Is this as annoying as I think it is??? Or does it just bug me cause, MIL shenanigans (of which there are PLENTY). Idk I feel like I'm always on edge about something with her and it throws the vibes off.
