[WP] What if some of the astronomical phenomena we currently classify as natural are actually the stable end states of very old technological civilizations?

City Run DIY Review

Mechanical assembly was fine, but the electrical assembly failed because one tiny keyed connector would not seat properly. The most disappointing part was support — it took about a month to get a response for a bike that was unusable as an e-bike. This experience has made me seriously reconsider buying online instead of from a local bike shop.

Yes, I bought it directly from Heybike, and no, I'm not interested in going round and round with their customer service.

EDIT: The only reason I bought the bike was because of the glowing report from Consumer Reports. I guess you can't trust anyone, even if you pay for a subscription.

Someone downvoted me. Their right. I upvoted everyone who left a comment.

Karma is a bitch.

[WP] A coughing fit brings you awake. You open your eyes. You are lying in a hospital bed. There are people in scrubs and surgical masks all around you. "What is the last thing you remember?" on asks. You think, then say "Dying". One of the other people shouts "IT WORKS!" into the hallway.

Address book to mailing list trouble

Help would be appreciated, if you can. I've created an address book. I've populated it from a CSV file. I've created a mailing list underneath the address book. I've selected all the entries in the address book and tried to drag-n-drop (CTL-A, left mouse hold, slide to taget, release) to the mailing list folder. Target mailing list never 'lights' up, and drag and drop fails. Please advise.

[WP] We've all heard stories about good people who lean in so hard to being 'good' that they break through and actually become evil. What about the converse? A person who leans in so hard to being evil that he wraps around into being...good?

"Start Fresh" after 4 hours, or watch it until it 'goes senile'?

Title says it all. Working on a small-ish personal project, and I notice the LLM starts to 'sundown' on me after a 'long' session, long in this case is measured in feet of text and not in time. Especially bad if I have to shove a lot of JSON reports at it. Any rule of thumb you guys in the trenches use?

EDIT.

Thanks to all who have responded. I find it sad/hilarious that I still cannot craft a decent r/PromptEngineering question.

I am using web based chatGPT, and based on your comments I am using tiktoken to get a handle on my token use. I know I can use built in token counts with the API, but I find the web UI works better with the code/debug/edit/rerun cycle I'm in now. YMMV

Believers are not thinking ahead, nor taking note of history.

So what happens when we become the Theocratic Republic of Trumpism? I submit that all the little sects will then be locked in a power struggle to see who represents the One True Gawd.

It's happened with Islam. It happened with the Protestant Revolt (secular Catholic here). "Deus Vult" is the perfect battle cry when you're contemplating crimes against humanity. Or against that black church down the road.

Service Recommendation in FL

I am looking for a shop in Pinellas County, FL, that will do minor (I hope) wire/connector repair on my Cityrun. I put it together myself...and it shows. The horn goes off when I power on the battery, but it goes off when I press the horn button and keep it depressed.

The cable to the front went on "fairly" easily, but I'm not entirely sure the cable to the rear light is secure.

Thank you in advance.
