Anyone had a hurdle with not having their Year 12? Best solution?

Hey guys,

I finished my Year 10 in an equivalency program via Department of Human Services x TAFE, looking at some ADF roles and unfortunately some of the ones peaking my interest are Year 12 required (typically with passes in English, Math and another STEM subject).

What’s the most effective way to achieve a Year 12 education in the eyes of the ADF?

I’m already working full time so ideally it’s an online or part time study option.

I see tertiary preparation programs with universities, I see a Cert IV in Adult Tertiary Prep with TAFE and I see the ACER ran STAT test to basically sit down and run an exam that results in your ATAR.

Any options I’m missing and which is best for matching the requirements of the ADF?

Thanks all

So confused what this is on my skin ?

It’s been on my skin for months, never grown wider. Not itchy, not painful. Just an odd blotch on my skin in the one place.

Optic Nerve Hypoplasia - Medical Standards Advice Needed

Hey ladies and gentlemen,

Just would deeply appreciate some advice on how to go about the pathway for me into paramedicine despite my ONH diagnosis.

I can drive and race cars, catch balls and compete in sports, have trained martial arts my whole life. Point is, I have perfect vision in my good eye, with 6/60 (legal blindness) in my left.

I.e - on a snellen chart, I can see the top / big letter with my bad eye, can see full colour though. Detect motion comfortably etc. Just cannot read with my left eye.

However with my good eye, I can do anything and have never ran into issues.

I imagine my optometrist would happily sign off on recommending me as a candidate capable of QAS duty, however, would I wish to complete 3 years plus of study then get rejected anyway?

Is there another way I can check in with QAS prior to study to see if they’d approve my case vision wise first?

Thank you all.

Fresh Con Load Fill Speed

Hey guys, just wondering how long a pallet takes to fill as a 3 man team in fresh con?

I’ve heard about an hour is considered good / fast, that 1hr and 30 is normal if not slightly slow. And anything longer than 2 hours is obviously slow.

How many pallets of load do you guys normally receive VS leave most nights considering most stores fill fresh con in the evening now?

How many days do you finish the load per week vs nearly finish vs abysmally fail?

Best jobs for non university educated young Australians?

Wondering what the best entry level or short course / licenced jobs are?

Not just about most paying relative to effort, but considering how fast you can actually get a job in said role. Both from the time it takes to get certified or licenced if needed and the demand for the role in that industry.

For example, security licences can be as cheap as $1500 all up with only a week course. But there’s often only 20-50 job opportunities for full time work in most Australian cities.

Whereas forklift driving is similar pay for a cheaper course with double or triple the job demand.

Thoughts on what you’d recommend?
