Some important news about Trumps big fireworks show tonight and very long speech. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSTING WHICH WILL BE TAKEN DOWN BY TOMORROW PROBABLY.

It looks like the Democrats are going to use their weather control to cause thunderstorms to wreck Trumps big fireworks show and speech tonight. And of course Obama and Biden are behind it all.

Trump will probably talk about that in his advertised "very long speech" and tweet about it in the middle of the night. What a wonderful guy. And such a hard neurotic worker too.

This is what I am doing because I have not yet found a script agent or manager or a big time producer to make my comedy screenplay. If you are a writer in a similar situation, you may want to consider this. It is quite unique I think, and HAS MAYBE NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.

I call my method a STUDIO PLAY MOVIE. I got criticism saying it was nothing new. Well, I don't know about that. You can look at the link and decide.

If you are a frustrated writer, it is something you may want to try.

Right at this moment, I have a tech expert starting a google ad campaign to find an investor. He will get about 10% of any money raised. If he is not successful, I don't pay him anything.

You can look at the link and then look further from the web page for this project. If you like this concept, feel free to share this posting. It may become a new popular method of making low cost movies. The page is for investors. I am not asking you to invest. If you are a typical writer you don't have money to invest, and if you did, you would invest in your own movie. I am posting this to give you ideas. If you share it, you can help others. The photo is AI generated. In my movie, there will be a singer singing a funny song.

If you have an open mind, this could change your life. To get the ideas needed to change your life, click here.

PS: Here is a paste from an inquiry I did using google AI.

A reply by google AI here: You said: Is the quick shooting method used and taught by Robert Rodriguez comparable to the method shown on this page? https://stevecosmic.com/studioplay.html

"No, the famous guerrilla method taught by Robert Rodriguez is fundamentally different from the "Studio Play" method."

"While both share the core objective of skipping the traditional Hollywood studio system to create full-length features quickly and on a micro-budget, they tackle the problem with completely opposing artistic and technical philosophies."

***************************************************************************************

(I did the above google AI search after being criticized by a guy who said my method was nothing new, that Robert Rodriguez had been teaching the "exact same" method for years.)

Hi, is there anyone here who would like to be a moderator for my postings here? If you have read my postings and like where I am coming from, then you are a good fit! I'm 78, with lots to do in my life, including volunteer work, my filmmaking, my son and grandkids, and naps! Any help appreciated.

I am outside the box, and open minded. Anyone can have a different opinion. I don't care. However, I won't spend my remaining time arguing with people. If people disagree with me, fine, but don't expect me to "debate" which is a kinder way of saying argue with you. I am not on trial.

I don't need to defend myself. To be moderator here, it would be good if you like this..... "Life is short. So be sure to spend as much time as you can arguing with strangers."

So... if you are game, let me know.

Best wishes to all. Steve Cosmic. Writer, director, award winning filmmaker, former bush pilot, inventor, welder, mail order expert, web publisher, hypnotherapist, author, father, grandfather, photographer, and survivor of an abusive childhood.

A totally radical way to shoot a FEATURE FILM IN ONE DAY, at very low cost. This can suit frustrated writers, which includes myself. How I am planning to shoot my comedy feature film in one day, and how you can too. It can be done for only 2K to 4K. Full details here. I call it a "Studio Play."

You can do this too. Exactly how I plan to do this is at the link. (the link is to show you something, not to try to sell you anything)

First, about this script. I have tried very hard to get a script agent, or literary manager, or big studio, interested, with no luck. I have decided to take matters into my own hands.

What I will produce will be saleable on numerous platforms. It will look different than a "regular" movie of course, but it will still be very entertaining, and saleable. Right now I am looking for a "Key Person", a "Master Actor".

I am not trying to sell anything here. Some frustrated writers might want to try this, and it could change their lives.

I am offering the pay below, to the "Master Actor/Key person/producer/casting director" because I am living on my pension, and I'm 78, and it's the best I can do. Maybe you can do better.

For this person, I am presently offering $600 after our shoot is wrapped, and a demo reel worth $300, and $600 on deferral.

The lead actors will be offered $200, a $300 demo reel, and $200 on deferral. I am seeking actors who are now presently working for free on short films.

When it is finished, I will have the satisfaction of seeing one of my projects for sale online, earning a bit of money.

I will also be able to use it to promote to screen agents, managers, and big time producers, to make it into a "real" movie.

Have a look at this link, it could change your life. My Studio Play concept is here.

PS: I am offering rock bottom pay. You can see how just doubling the pay would make it easier to find the people. Please share this all over the net if you like.

PPS: I got carried away with my enthusiasm for this method, while I wrote the above. I forgot one detail, which I take for granted. That is, I own my own gear and do my own editing. If you don't, you can look for recent film school grads who want experience to help. Some will have their own cameras. YOU DO NOT NEED A HIGH END CAMERA. These days, you can use a camera similar to mine, which is a Sony AX 100. It is 4K. Believe me, it is all you need to get a movie on TV! I have done it lots of times! Another idea, find someone who shoots weddings and such, who wants to make something more interesting for a change. They might volunteer. Look for "videographers" in your town or city.

About hiring script reader "experts" A controversial approach.

Here are some things I learned when I sent my first feature screenplay to some "experts" for feedback. I learned a valuable lesson, and stopped doing it. Later I learned how to get valuable, real world, feedback for free, and I'll share how below.

What I learned is that people who charge money to read scripts, feel an obligation to give ideas to "improve" the script. They want to justify their fee. The next thing I learned is that any changes they suggest will make the story different. Then I realized that different does not necessarily mean better! Next I realized that the people I paid had less imagination than me.

So I quit hiring such people and started making short films. I put many on youtube of course, and even sold some to broadcast TV. That was around 2002 and 2003, before there were streaming channels as there are now. I got a few hundred bucks for each film, sold to a short film TV channel.

After a while, I had hundreds of videos on youtube. And here's the exciting part, which will pertain to your scripts too. First I learned that with youtube analytics you can get something called audience retention. How long people watch before they lose interest, and WHEN they lose interest. You can also find out when they lingered on a few words of dialogue, or rewatched part of the video. You can also find out how your video compares to other similar videos. Like have you got a hit, or an average video? Or a sub average video?

This is more valuable than some book learning comments by a so called expert. And it's free!

Next, I tried something which will pertain to you, and your script or scripts.

I hired an actress to do a cold read of one of my comedies. She read for all the characters, and narration about the locations too. And she didn't just read in a monotone, she acted out the different roles as best she could, including the male characters. The result was very entertaining! And from youtube audience retention data I could see which parts people liked the most, and the least.

So here's some ideas on what you can do, and it's all free. First, open a youtube channel if you haven't already. It's completely free and easy. Next put up a short video... almost anything...... use your phone and record your cat or dog or traffic on a street, or anything. Upload it to youtube and wait 24 to 48 hours. Then find youtube analytics and audience retention. If you haven't done this before, it is very interesting. Some parts which you thought were the best parts might get the worst response for instance.

OK, that was just to introduce you to having a youtube channel and analytics if you don't already know.

The next step is to read all or part of your script on camera, or hire an actor, and upload it. Use a tripod and decent lighting and of course get good audio. Then wait 24 plus hours and you will be amazed at what you will learn from youtube analytics. You'll learn the strong and weak parts of your script, better than you can learn from a paid reader.

What you might want to do instead is pick two or 3 scenes and blend them into a short film script, so there is a beginning, middle and an end.

However, you'll get the best feedback if you put up the full story. If you are afraid of having your story stolen, think of this: The average person, especially the average youtube person, is not a filmmaker with big money, who can make a real movie. Your story or concept is not likely to get stolen. Reality is your story or concept may already be in the works with a filmmaker or production company. And you can take the video down after you learn what you need to learn.

Or you can send it to professional readers and follow their suggestions until you can't recognize the original story anymore.

If you like this, please share it. Does it make sense to you?

(This is from my website.)

A freeze frame from a cold read of a comedy script. Special effects were used, but you can just use a plain background if you want.

Well, I did it! I greatly improved my mail out list for any writers wanting to get their script made into a movie. I added about 50 film producers who consider new writers! And 50 screenwriters managers! (Not screenwriter agents) 900 total emails. It took over 5 months to build this list.

The list is now so good that I am going to try it again for my 5 scripts!

You can try different pitches for your scripts, over and over again, for all of them. It doesn't cost anything. You never know when the right person might be looking for what you have!

This is valuable, and I'm selling it for only $6.95. My web page gives all details. You get an instant PDF download and you can start using it right away! PLUS IT HAS A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. GUARANTEE DETAILS ARE ON THE WEB PAGE.

Click HERE to look and get details.

Yeah lots of reddit people say I shouldn't promote myself the way I do, but I don't care. I'm not politically correct and I'm not here to please others. When you get 78 you'll know how I feel. (Well, if you are still trying to be politically correct when you are 78, I feel sorry for you. It will mean you have missed out a LOT in your life.)

If you want to cross post this you can, but don't say I said to do it.

PS: I won the awards below. No Oscars. But to win them, my films had to be better than the hundreds that are submitted to each festival. The people in charge have seen many many films and considered my films to be the best for their festival. To win an award at a festival, the writing has to be good. This includes best actor/actress awards. Actors can't put their hearts and souls into dumb lines. Of my 14 awards below, 4 are for Best Actress.

I am starting to think reddit people don't have a sense of humour. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I do know they can watch 17 videos, totalling around 3 hours total time, for 5 bucks. It might even total 4 to 5 hours total viewing time. Don't look if you are afraid you might laugh.

An example of what I mean...... I posted an article here once, titled Do Poodles Know They Look Stupid?

I wrote a few serious lines about this, and got criticized profusely. Maybe I'm not using profusely right. I don't know. But I do know this, The more politically correct you are, the less happy you will be. And also this, The more politically correct you are, the less creative you will be.

You get a chance to spend 5 dollars and learn a lot, about film making, writing, and about life, and to laugh too by going here.

Actually, you'll be entertained a lot, just by looking at the page and reading the titles of the 17 videos, without spending a penny.

The wonderful thing about being a screenwriter is you always have homework to do, and if you don't do it, you will not get anywhere. And if you do it perfectly, you will still probably not get anywhere.

One thing I learned about comedy is there has to be truth in it.

(Not counting physical comedy like pie in the face, slipping on a banana peel type comedy.)

You can maybe beat the odds, or if not, increase your feelings of rejection, by sending emails to 800 agents and producers at this link: https://stevecosmic.com/selltohollywood.html

I am moving ahead on my "Studio Play Movie". This is about making one of my feature length scripts, into a watchable and saleable movie, IN ONE DAY! I will do a bit today, and then proceed full speed over the coming weeks. I post about this here now, for other frustrated writers, like me!

I have had a big delay caused by tech problems. It involves my obsolete 2G phone. To enhance my facebook security, so I can reply to facebook messages, facebook wants me to logon with my mobile. My old 2G phone can't do that. Once I do all of that, I can then reply to facebook messages.

WHY THIS ALL MATTERS. It's because I want to use beginner, (low cost) actors, which are found on facebook groups. (With a significant budget, I would email talent agents who have lots of more experienced actors.)

If you don't know about my very low cost way of making a script into a watchable and saleable movie, look around my reddit. Why do this? Well then I can make a bit of money with it, and also, very importantly, prove to big time producers that I have a saleable concept. Other writers can do this too. Look around my reddit to find out more. I don't make anything from helping other writers discover this new concept. (Making a "Studio Play Movie" in one day.)

WELL, this is about shooting it in one day. It does not include advertising for actors, and an assistant, auditions, rehearsals, and editing. PLEASE SHARE THIS TO HELP OTHER WRITERS.

About my outside the box method of seeking big time agent for one of my scripts. Here's some amazing news on what I did yesterday, and the results just 24 hours later. A bit more good news may come in later today.

Yesterday I sent a query to emails on my big list of 800 plus agents, managers, and producers. I got 16 important film people to spend an average of 39 seconds on my very informative web page. 3 of them then went on to look at my 4 other similar pages for my 4 other scripts.

In 39 seconds a viewer can read the full long synopsis and character descriptions. 39 seconds on the page was average, a few would have been longer. This is a remarkable accomplishment!

I am encouraged to keep going! I will wait a few days and then do the same for another one of my script pages. (I have been improving my mail outs over the past few months.)

My method is contrary to all the recommended methods. All the results are verified by google analytics.

I get criticized for my methods. You can look at my 800 list page and decide if you want to criticize it, or try it. Click here to read about this disruptive method.
