Hi, I’ve been noticing a lot of the Studio Ghibli steelbooks are slowly getting scarcer. They were usually always around 15-20 dollars a pop on Amazon but now films like Princess Mononoke and The Wind Rises are no longer available (don’t get me started on Whisper of the Heart). Do you think this is temporary or could there be possible 4K releases on the horizon for US markets.

I only have a few of them and now I regret just buying all of them when they were available a few months ago.

Has Miyamoto ever confirmed that Link is unable to talk in every possible iteration of the games? Or is that something that fans have come up with.

I always assumed he was a silent protagonist in the games because he was an avatar for the player in the same way Dragon Quest and Persona was. You could name Link to be your name so he was essentially you.

Link is obviously not a mute as he makes sounds. I personally don’t have a strong opinion on whether he doesn’t talk or not. If he speaks in the remake or in future titles, I will not be offended but I know a lot of fans will be.

Of course he has to speak in next year’s live-action film because Hollywood isn’t going to release a multi-million dollar film where the main character does not speak. Though I guarantee there will sly jokes that Link is the “silent type” or is a “man of few words” and move on.

Mostly just curious on what mainline game did it became obvious that Link is going to be a silent protagonist from now on going forth.

I want to do a playthrough where I reclass every companion as their polar opposite from their starting class. The class has to be antithetical to what the companion stands for in their Baldur’s Gate journey. I don’t want to multiclass nor do I want to reuse classes between all nine companions.

Here’s what I’m thinking.

Shadowheart: God’s favorite princess is a dedicated cleric of Shar who keeps secrets and is very uncharismatic in her small talk. That’s why she gets my Bard slot. Now Shadowheart will nonstop sing and tell tales about her Goddess and use her persuasive tongue to get what she wants.

Astarion: Astarion was tricky because I rarely kept him as a rogue. At first I thought Druid would be neat and make Astarion one with the land and nature, but shapeshifting isn’t unfamiliar to a vampire. So an Open-Hand Monk makes the most sense. Astarion now uses his fists instead of knives and promotes inner peace with his high wisdom.

Lae’zel: Bae’zel is easy. She is my rogue. She even says stealing is the worst crime a Githyanki can commit so why not make her my go-to lock-picker and sleight of hand with a bit of Swashbuckler flair to add to her overflowing charisma.

Gale: Obviously Gale can’t be a magic user, so Barbarian he is. He can a throwzerker or just make him very big and kick things hard. Mystra will never see it coming.

Wyll: What is the opposite for Wyll? I had a hard time thinking about this and I landed on Trickery Domain Cleric. Wyll never came off as a religious guy, so him worshipping Tiamat would be funny and have him lean in on obeying Mizora at any chances (of course with one exception…)

Karlach: Wizard. Another easy choice I think. Karlach is not versed in magic nor does she says she enjoys reading, so making her a Frost-focused Wizard makes sense to cool her fiery engine.

Halsin: Since Halsin spends all game trying to remove the Shadow-Curse why not make him a Shadow Sorcerer and have him embrace the dark magic? He can still “lift” the curse but in his eyes, he just absorbs the curse into him.

Jaheira: This is where I slot Warlock. Either as The Fiend or Great Old One, I’m not versed well on Jaheria’s lore in the previous games but I feel like she would not take kindly to pledging her fealty to a devil or an ancient being. 

Minthara: She is pretty much a wild card so I gave her Ranger here. I think swarmkeeper would be hilarious for her.

It goes incredibly hard.

All my DnD friends think I’m fucking weird that I find Lae’zel ridiculously hot and how I always romance her every chance I get. They all have the boring choices of Astarion and Shadowheart and think I’m gross for choosing sexy time with Mommy Lae’zel.

All I have left is this small dark corner on the internet that confirms I’m not alone lusting after the frog princess.

What do we think of the guy?

He has a new movie out this weekend, Power Ballad, but the buzz is kinda middling.

Once and Sing Street are both are among my favorites. Sing Street is the ultimate pick-me-up movie for me. Once is a movie I loved upon release, but I haven't revisited in a long time, but I will still occasionally listen to the soundtrack, and it still rips. Great soundtrack and a very deserving Oscar win.

Haven't seen his other movies because they just never really grabbed me. Anyone else seen them? He'd be a fun miniseries.

I’ve never had this with a preorder before. I usually get an update about how it’s delayed but it’s still sitting at “placed” with a delivery date of May 18th.

I’m almost pulling the trigger on canceling it and buying the standard on Amazon.

Do you only cast these spells if it makes sense role playing for your character?

I have to admit in my 1000 hours playing, I always have Speak with Animals on and I cast Speak with the Dead every time. It’s a habit. Does it make sense for my Origin Lae’zel to be talking to animals? No not really but I’m still gonna talk to that strange ox every time. Also my barbarian gnome is definitely going to speak to every corpse he finds.

But more importantly, are the post season 3 episodes still worth watching? I still have never seen the "final" season that aired on Yahoo.

The first three seasons of the show were very important to me. I went to all the Comic Con panels. "Cooperative Calligraphy", "Epidemiology", "Remedial Chaos Theory", and of course all the Paintball episodes are some of the best television I've seen. However, I really fell off once Harmon left and I really haven't gone back to revisit the series in over a decade.

Has anyone rewatched Community in full in the last few years? Do you recommend still continuing after season 3? I remember season 5 being halfway decent but I cannot remember a single thing about it unlike the first three seasons.

I need to rewatch Master and Commander, but after just watching Fearless for the first time, this has shot up to the top. What a picture. Movies about near-death experiences really fuck me up. Bridges gives an all-time performance just through his face alone. A murderer’s row of supporting cast. A capital A-Adult Drama that doesn’t come off as treacly or maudlin.

Got to the Act 2 love duel between me and Lae’zel. I got initiative, so I decided to pop an invisibility potion which immediately caused Lae’zel to go non-hostile and she returned to her camp.

Dumb me was like “huh, I wonder what happens if I just Long Rest here instead of reinitiate combat”. Well I long rested but when I woke up, Lae’zel was no longer in my active party. I could not interact with her at all. I tried attacking her and she immediately healed herself, so I couldn’t simply kill her and resurrect her. I tried long resting again and that did not fix it.

I guess going invisible and then straight to bed really pissed her off to the point she won’t even acknowledge me.

However I had a plan. I made sure to buy some smoke powder bombs and pilfer some oil barrels.

She was surrounded by barrels and bombs and then one fire arrow later, her entire hp bar nuked and she was burnt into a fiery crisp.

After I resurrected her, I was able to speak to her and she immediately had the “Let’s talk about us” dialogue, so apparently turning her into ash really turned her on so now we are going steady.

Just looking for ideas for a new run, and I was just wondering if I do a Karlach Origin run and use the polygamy mod to romance everyone (because Momma K wants to TOUCH!), is it possible to get my entire party to join me in Avernus at the end?

I have only gotten Lae'zel to join me in Avernus on my non-poly run.
