Need advice for buying a 65-inch TV (Budget: ₹1 lakh max) – Long-term reliability is my top priority

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy a 65-inch TV with a maximum budget of ₹1,00,000 and would appreciate your suggestions.

For context, we’re currently using a 43-inch Sony LED TV that has been running flawlessly for 12+ years. It still works perfectly, which is why I’m hoping to find something with similar reliability and longevity.

Our usage pattern:
Family viewing only.
TV is used around 2–3 hours a day on average.
Occasionally, my father watches long cricket series or tournaments.
We watch family movies together once in a while, but it’s not a daily activity.
I may buy a PlayStation (likely PS5) in the near future, so I’d like the TV to offer a good gaming experience as well (120 Hz, VRR, HDMI 2.1, low input lag would be nice if possible).
What I care about (in order of priority):
Reliability and durability (I want another 10+ years if possible).
Excellent picture quality for movies and sports.
Good motion handling for cricket.
Decent gaming performance for future PS5 use.
Good after-sales service in India.

A few questions:
Should I buy OLED, Mini LED, or stick to a premium LED/QLED considering our usage?
Is OLED worth it if we don’t watch TV heavily, or should I avoid it because I want maximum longevity and peace of mind?
Which brands would you trust today for long-term ownership—Sony, LG, Samsung, TCL, Hisense, or others?
Are there any specific 65-inch models around ₹1 lakh that you’d recommend?
Is it worth waiting for festive sales (Independence Day, Big Billion Days, Diwali), or are current prices already good?

Thanks in advance!

Should I switch from a 2021 Kia Seltos Petrol to an EV? 100 km daily commute (Gurugram ↔ Noida) – XEV 9S vs Harrier EV

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice from EV owners, especially those who drive long distances every day.

My current situation:

  • Car: 2021 Kia Seltos Petrol Manual
  • Commute: Gurugram to Noida and back
  • Distance: Around 100 km every day
  • Driving days: Around 25 days a month
  • Monthly running: Approximately 2,500 km
  • Most of my driving is on expressways and city roads with the usual NCR traffic.

My petrol and maintenance costs are adding up, so I'm seriously considering switching to an EV. I have access to home charging, so charging infrastructure isn't a major concern.

The two cars I'm considering are:

  1. Mahindra XEV 9S (most likely Pack Two, 70 kWh)
  2. Tata Harrier EV

My priorities are:

  • Long-term reliability (I'll probably keep the car for 5-7 years)
  • Comfortable daily commuting
  • Low running and maintenance costs
  • Good highway stability and safety
  • Real-world range
  • After-sales service
  • Strong resale value

A few questions for current owners:

  • Has switching to an EV been worth it for a 100 km/day commute?
  • How much are you actually saving every month compared to a petrol SUV?
  • Between the XEV 9S and Harrier EV, which would you choose and why?
  • How are Mahindra and Tata's after-sales service and software updates?
  • Have you faced any battery, charging, or reliability issues?
  • If you were buying today with a budget of around ₹30 lakh, would you choose either of these or recommend something else?

I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who own either vehicle or have driven both extensively.

Thanks in advance!

Meghalaya in Mid-June (12–22 June): Will the Rain Ruin the Trip? Itinerary Feedback Needed

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are planning our first trip to Meghalaya from 12th June onwards and would love some advice from locals and recent travelers.
Our tentative itinerary is:
12–14 June: Shillong (2 nights)
14–17 June: Cherrapunji/Sohra (3 nights)
17–18 June: Dawki/Shnongpdeng (1 night)
18–19 June: Jowai (1 night)
19–21 June: Kaziranga (2 nights)
21–22 June: Guwahati and departure
A few questions:
How intense is the rain typically in mid-June?
Is it usually continuous all day, or does it come in spells?
Will heavy clouds and rain significantly affect sightseeing around Shillong and Cherrapunji?
Is the Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek advisable at this time of year?
We know Dawki won’t have the crystal-clear water seen in winter, but is it still worth an overnight stay in June?
Are there any places on our itinerary that we should skip or replace during the monsoon?
How are the road conditions between Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki, Jowai, and Kaziranga during this period?
Is Kaziranga worth including in June, or should we spend those extra two days somewhere else in Meghalaya?
We actually enjoy rain, greenery, waterfalls, and misty landscapes, so we’re not looking for sunny weather. Our main concern is whether the weather could lead to road closures, cancelled activities, or poor visibility for most of the trip.
Any suggestions for hidden gems, scenic stays, cafés, or monsoon-specific experiences would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
