Omaha woman with Down syndrome denied boarding at Eppley Airfield

So stupid and discriminatory. American Airlines should be ashamed of themselves.

She’s flown on her own before with no issues. And because she was caught off guard be an unexpected question she was denied her boarding pass.

Question from non LDS about God and Satan’s plans

Hi there!

I’m not LDS and I’m really curious about how faithful LDS members view this question. Not looking for judgmen, just understanding.

Many Christian denominations reject that agency can play a part in being saved. Indeed, they affirm that God only can make an individual worthy and perfect and that He must do so apart from the will of the individual. They do not believe that all will be saved though.

I am not asking to debate the merits of this view. Rather I am curious to learn if you think this view better matches the LDS view of God’s plan or if it better matches the plan that the LDS says Satan proposed?

edit: Put another way, would it be considered to be in unity with God‘s plan or more in the spirit of Satan’s rebellion?

Again I am not seeking to be critical or judgmental here, just trying to gain a better understanding.

Thank you all and I wish you well.

I dislike billboard theology

as it leaves so much out of the discussion. Additionally the questions of “Is it true? Is it helpfu? Is it kind?” come to mind.

1 Corinthians 6 is quite clear on this matter. It’s also quite clear on a host of other sins that disqualify us from heaven, a list that condemns me as well.

Reading the comments on this post, I see a lot of hardening of hearts without the rest of the story that Scripture teaches. Yeah, it’s pride month, but surely there are better ways we can address this sin than a passive-aggressive church sign?

Increasingly hard to get and stay signed in

Netflix is making it increasingly hard to get and stay signed in. The only password sharing we do is between my wife and I, in the same household.

A while ago Netflix started forcing us to sign in on the Apple TV app every time we wanted to watch something. Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing. Apparently the next recommended step is to wipe the entire device. My life is too busy as it is and I don't have time to deal with that. We have plenty of other options, so we have been launching Netflix less and less.

Just now I was wanting to watch a movie on my laptop. It was signed out too. Fair, it's been a while since I have watched on my laptop. I pull the credentials from my password manager and start to log in. It doesn't prompt for a password but instead asks me to click on a link sent to the email. Problem is it's an old email address of my wife's. Clicking around I don't see any option to use the password. She *probably* still has access to it, but my wife checks her active email something like once a month, if prompted. She also has much bigger fish to fry with the kids than this.

So I guess I'll watch something else in the background.

I'm not going to waste time reloading devices, harassing my wife for a link, or calling support. Just let me sign in and stay signed in like every other service. Basic stuff here Netflix. (yes I know this isn't an official forum)

At the rate we are going I will pull our subscription and put all of this nonsense behind us. Anyone else feel the same?

How do you keep everything straight for ISFP / IEP / 504 meetings?

I’m a dad of a four year old with Down syndrome (current IEP) and two older kids with ADHD (one had an ISFP in the past).

I feel like every time we get close to a meeting, everything is scattered: notes in my phone, emails from teachers, random documents, stuff my wife remembers that I forgot.

Then we sit down in the meeting and I know there were things we meant to bring up… but they’re just gone. We got blind sided by questions too. Sometimes it feels like we are expected to lead, but at the same time when we give our thoughts we often get pushback.

I’m curious, how are you all actually keeping track of everything leading up to these meetings?

Is there something that’s working for you, or is everyone just kind of piecing it together like we are?

Outdoor tree lights

There are two of these lights in the front lawn that come on at night. Previous owner had them installed.

Now they are burned out. What do I need to do to get these working again?

(i removed the lens to get the image of the inside)
