King of Survival 2 just had its finale. Kim Byungman confirms there will be season 3

It sucks that OTT sites didn't picked King of Survival 2. Season 1 was reallly great with a powerhouse cast, but season 2, which kinda took the Physical Asia route having 4 different countries competing (Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia) in hindsight turned out to be pretty good too. Lots of laughs, a bit of drama, and challenges that are really interesting to watch. Reminds you a lot of Law of the Jungle.

Not gonna spoil which country won (it's on the TV Chosun youtube) but the show kinda turned to be like 'Let's Go Dream Team' and Physical 100 with the challenges in the final episodes. In the end, Kim Byungman confirmed that there will be a 3rd season and they will pretty much do the same format moving forward.

When this was first announced, the hype was build around Kim Jongkook joining the show, but we didn't realized he will be a host/emcee instead and not actually play the games which was a bit of a letdown. I've always have great respect to the original tribal chief Kim Byungman and to me, Law in the Jungle is still the GOAT variety show that's why I still watch the shows where he's in. Just happy to see Chief Byungman on TV and still physically healthy at his age.

Today marks 1 year of me walking 1 hour a day

Late post, but I did it. The journey started June 19, 2025. 365+ days straight. 60~ minutes, 7,000~ steps a day, everyday. Rain, thunderstorms, windy days, and extreme heat. No excuses. Not stopping as long as I can. God is good.

LINK: My 6th month anniversary post

FAQ:

  • How do you walk if you have fever or sickness? - Fortunately I haven't had any high fever, colds, flu, or sickness that makes me stay in bed for days for a year. There's times I feel under the weather, had mild headache or mild colds but I just take some paracetamol and still do it. Usually I felt better after walking.
  • How do you walk if there are heavy thunderstorms? - I drive to an open mall or huge supermarket, then I walk/stroll around the place for 1 hour. For rain and extreme heat, I wear a cap, carry an umbrella and walk the same routes.
  • What shoes are you wearing? - Just 2 pairs of Hoka cliftons that I wear alternately.
  • Do you keep track of how many steps/miles you had per month/year? - No. No pedometers or apps. Just the clock on my phone. The only thing I take note is the minutes of my walk. Once I know it's been an hour of me walking, I drink some water and go home.
  • Do you have a day job and what time do you usually walk? - I do a WFH job as an online editor, so I don't really work in an office 9-5 or work for long straight hours. For the most part of the year, I usually walk around 4PM to 5:30PM.
  • Did you still walk even on special occasions like Christmas day, your birthday, or some important gathering that made you spent your whole day in it? - Yes. No excuses. Whether I had to do it very early in the morning or late in the evening.
  • Why you do it? - For health mainly. Got a lot of family history of stroke and heart attack. Also to maintain a healthy weight, look slim, relieve stress, my form of mental theraphy, for meditation, and to look younger for my age (on my late 30's now).
  • How did you start? - I was a miserable, close to chubby weight, Mcdonald's eating, stuck in the loop bum a couple of years ago. Then one night in June 2025, I came across a reality show titled Iron Girls. I got super inspired and it changed my life, literally. I suggest to give the show a watch too.
  • What other exercise do you do besides walking? - I do some lifting a couple of times a week and push ups. That's it.
  • Do you listen to podcast/songs when you walk? - No. I prefer looking at nature, the views, seeing other people, reflecting, and listening to the sound of real life.

Park Ju-hyun not being on Iron Girls 3 just hurts a lot and very saddening...

Like I've waited all year for S3 and as much as I love the other cast, knowing that I'm not gonna see her in S3, let alone in variety this year just pains me. She has stolen my heart since S1 and my sole inspiration to get back on doing fitness activities like running and jogging, which I've been doing for over a year now.

Uee not taking part too in S3 is also sad, but I've watched Uee doing these types of shows for over a decade. I already know much about her. She's very athletic and everyone knows she's a former swimmer (they say it all the time in all her shows). She survived Law of the Jungle twice and has reached the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in 6 days. She's a real life Iron Girl.

Also, after reading that S3 is ice speed skating, I initially kinda knew that Uee would likely step down as Lee Sanghwa likely will be the girls' coach/guest here, and she's married to Kangnam (Uee's ex-boyfriend). Hence, to avoid awkwardness and not make it uneasy between them, Uee has to sit this one out.

But Juhyun not being in there just hits different. Imo she was the heart of that show and she has stolen many hearts as well in those past seasons. Her humor, energy, the way she rise and deliver when it counts, her never give up attitude. I'm gonna miss her a lot. It just pains me that I've waited so long and now, the possibility to ever see her again as a cast member of this show is likely done and it will all just be great memories.

Met a fly girl and I can't relax.. (actually very worried and anxious now)

38M here, unilateral cleft. So I attended a friend's wedding where I'm one of the groomsmen, where I met and got 'partnered' with one of the groomsladies. She was very pretty and seems to have a great personality. Very energetic, smiley, well spoken, seems educated and polite.

We initially waved and say hi to each other upon first meeting. Maybe that was about 5 seconds. Then we never really talked and I was just always beside her, not looking directly, until the wedding started. We walked down the aisle during the entrance with her holding my arms. Then we were seated far from each other as the men and women are separated during the mass. The wedding took like 1.5 hours until we go to the wedding reception to have a program and eat.

Funny thing that made me laugh is while we are at a line together during the reception, old folks, and grandmothers are saying to us that "you guys look good with each other, you should date", "you two should get married next", "you both look lovely together, get each other's number". She just gave a warm and polite response to them and was laughing with them. It wasn't until we're at the table together later in the evening when we first talked and had a conversation.

We talked but not face to face. We were side by side, sitting and as we talk I was looking at her on my right side where my unilateral cleft isn't really visible. We talked for a good 40~ minutes. She was 10 years younger than me, she's single, and she loves running/jogging. We kept looking at each others eyes as we talk and smiling at each other. We're also drinking wine/beers that's why the conversations felt natural and fun. As our talking concludes, I asked for her FB and she gave it to me. Then that's the last time I saw her. I was very happy.

I sent her a friend request past 12AM that night. And woke up to a notification that she accepted it. I was very thrilled. I went through her profile and pics the whole day and I was really infatuated by her. I waited til the next day and took all my courage for me to send her a DM, and today I just did. But it's been around 14 hours now and my message isn't even 'seen' by her.

My biggest worry: it's because the truth is I was actually wearing a heavy makeup/foundation (BB cream) when we met, where it completely hid my cleft scar. The makeup stylist also did a contour like makeup for the asymmetry of my nose. And my worry is she might have taken a look at my FB profile pictures, noticed that I have a cleft, and now she's turned off.

Like I said, we never talked face to face that whole day. I was always looking at her on my right side. My scar is completely hidden by makeup. I think my profile pics on my fb where my cleft is visible messed this one up. I'm very anxious, worried, and a bit depressed. Coz as per my past experiences like this. This is where it usually ends, when a woman notices my cleft, it's done, over.

Just want to share this and hear your thoughts, or any words about my situation?
