Forget about diamonds... X/hide merch is a girl's best friend. 😸🤘❤️ My husband and I celebrated 38 years together (31 of them married) on August 18 2026....and as has been his tradition ever since it became evident my fan journey was past the point of no return (oh, let's say somewhere around late March 2021), I was again bestowed with more media items for the collection....I need to rearrange some space on our bookcase.....

Special thanks to u/mugongeki, who I was told was a quasi co-conspirator with the May 1989 BURRN! issue, when it was discovered after the fact that a photo of hide had been cut out from one of the pages. 😸 Mugo to the rescue for a partial restoration! ❤️ While I have been admittedly open and honest about not being fully invested in post-hide X, the 2017 BURRN! issue was still a score as there were a couple of photos I had never seen before.

AND, definite bang for the buck on my husband's part as there are other artist(s) articles/photos from the 1989 mags that I can share in r/hairmetal....🤘😁

....I am specifically looking for hi-res scans of the Motley Crue vs. X article ~ not for the Motley part of that equation, but for the X part of the equation as it features hide and Taiji (may they both rest in peace 🙏❤️). I am continuing to scour auctions for the actual issue to purchase myself but they are hard to come by and get snagged up quickly. As featured in his video, the lyric booklet with the first press edition was a fold-out which doubled as a poster. The standard press release was an actual booklet proper, which I am presenting here for comparison purposes. The final slide is Google Translate's result of the bonus flier that was included with both pressings. (One of the words in Paul Raven's statement I don't think is exactly correct based on context....but..... 😸😸) As always ~ or at least until I finally upgrade my phone 😬😸 ~ please forgive any imperfections, glare, etc.....

A little feature square from the BURRN! Presents ACE FREHLEY The Eternal Spaceman special edition magazine. It seems like this tidbit gets overlooked all too often, more so the fact that Jaime St. James was "the Peter guy". 😸 (Anyone remember when he fronted Warrant for a hot minute?) I live in the "Baltimore area" (about 25 minutes south) and I do recall seeing a local tribute band of the same name BUT that was sometime in the early to mid-90's....have not seen or heard any info about them since.

I highly recommend the magazine....very nice presentation and decent content. Make friends with Google Translate! 😸

Here is a small (4 x 6) flier that came with my copy of the CD, and can still be found floating around in a few Mercari auctions....prize entry coupon for the chance to win 1 of 500 limited edition "Pysensuits". (I did not bother posting the translation of the actual mailer side as that is nothing but standard demographic information.)

Does anyone have any details on what this "Psyensuit" actually was? Cursory research came up with vague and somewhat conflicting information....it MAYBE seemed to have been a repro of hide's camo jacket with the neon orange piping (sans the nuke symbol as seen in Slide #4....my fave shot of him in that outfit!)...BUT such things have also been advertised as more recent merch that was put out there after his passing. Any further information or lore would be greatly appreciated!

A narrative unfolded there but still no firm answers. As stated within the comments of the original post, my husband ultimately bought me the magazine but NONE of the content revealed additional photos from the photo shoot in question, let alone the origin. The shots I am including here is the raw evidence of the ALL the hide-related content in the issue....ZERO help with the ramen-head photo on the cover. 👿🤬 The only tie-in I could locate was a TV segment with hide and make-up artist Tony Tanaka (link within original post comments....and goddamn it, hide was so fucking beautiful ❤️🤯😸❤️)....

So, the question remains....does anyone have any information or insight on that little square on the cover of the magazine and/or any of the shots shown in the interview with Mr. Tanaka???? I will take anything I can get. 😬🙏

"It's a Bible for all fans of Warren and Robbin!" ❤️😸😁 I do not own it...however, I will honestly not be surprised if it turns up under the Christmas tree this year, or maybe just gifted to me for some other random occasion. Because my husband will do things like that. He has been significantly contributing to Japan's economy over the past 5 years between X Japan/hide and The GazettE merch/swag, and now all this.... 😸 And speaking of the economy...1200 yen back in 1986 equated to approximately $2.40 in USD....somewhere around $7.35 today.
