Hungry Like the Ratt: Pearcy Meets LeBon

This topic came up in another thread recently; I thought I would single it out. Easily one of my favorite parts of Stephen Pearcy's autobiography, if not THE favorite, is when he confessed being a fan of Duran Duran. This was literally a revelation for me. Another would come while reading DD Andy Taylor's book...when he lived in L.A. for a while, his next door neighbor was Tommy Lee. Andy went on to become friends with all the Motley guys and he was a guest at Vince Neil's bachelor party (when he married Sherise, if I remember correctly). That was an obnoxious story. 😸 (shocker) I was an OG Duranie back in the day and I took so much heat in high school (1980-1984) for being into both metal AND new wave....I was considered a "poser" by both sides. Meanwhile, there was more in common with both sides than anyone could have realized and where was all this information when I needed it back then?

In his book, Stephen shares a great story of fanboying out over meeting Simon LeBon in 1985 at the Limelight in New York City. Thankfully his own website does all the work for me (link below)...the video for his cover of Girls On Film, which I thought was pretty darn decent, is also included. Duran Duran's original demo version of the song is very rock-based and has a heavier feel than what it would eventually/ultimately sound like...I actually like it better. It's available on YouTube if anyone would care to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0lOp4xipSE

Does anyone know what Juan Croucier is up to these days?

Anyone know anything? Does he perform at all anymore? I can’t seem to find much about him online besides a couple things from 3+ years ago.

He doesn’t seem to have any social media profiles either that I could find (unless I’m just missing them)

Warren Wednesday🔥Metal Edge interview (Reach for the Sky era)

Scavenger hunt! Can anyone find the slight flaw within this article? (Mini-hint: It's on the second page.)

I still love the *adorable* shot of Warren and Kathy! My husband actually met her back in 1991 in New York City, when Warren was participating in an event honoring Frank Zappa. He said she was very kind and a delight to speak with....I think he still has a photo with her somewhere.

On a related note....I have been searching tirelessly for this online and keep coming up empty. Does anyone else remember Warren doing an interview for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine? I believe it was sometime in 1987 or 1988 (not certain)...the feature photo with the piece was a black-and-white shot of him and Kathy, where they were lying on a bed together and she was in a black corset and chauffer's cap get-up....a Joan Collins in The Bitch kind of thing. I remember being all agape in the middle of my local magazine shop as I had never seen sweet, innocent Warren (!) in a scenario like that. 😸🤯😸 I regrettably did NOT by the magazine, however...I only had enough cash on me to buy one, and one of the big rock publications of the time had a pin-up of Eric Carr that I could not resist. That damn issue of Interview always stuck in my mind, though....I unfortunately do not even remember who was on the cover so I cannot reserve search from there. I think I found that shot of Warren and Kathy online only once but it was many years ago....it seems to have since disappeared. Anyone know what I am talking about ~ or even better, actually HAVE that magazine???? ANY information at all to validate my memory would be appreciated. 🙏😸

Stephen explaining the title of “Invasion of your Privacy” on Radio 1990 (1985)

This clip is so hilarious to me. “It isn’t like an offensive thing, we don’t mean it as that” then proceeds to say they’re “in your home” with everyone’s mothers, daughters and sisters 😂 diabolical!

When Stephen went industrial ⨳ Vertex ⨳ One Like a Son

I personally enjoy this album very much, and it is unfortunate that it did not get more attention at the time. I liked the Vicious Delite project as well but not nearly as much as this ~ I thought Vertex was the much stronger industrial genre offering between the two. Any thoughts, opinions, random musings?
