Liar's Crit T-shirt or something?

I made the Liar's Crit post that Elise mentioned in the birthday stream!

I'd love to see a t-shirt or something for that, if Darrington were interested. I'm not trying to make money off of it, I just think it'd be cool and a way to contribute to the community. Is that something any of the rest of you would like to see?

First Fountain Pens (TWSBI Eco)

I’m a not-quite beginner artist who really enjoys inking with dip pens. I’ve been looking into urban sketching and wanted something more portable than my nib holder.
After significant research on youtube, I opted for two TWSBI Eco’s (The purple is M, and the black is EF). I liked the painless filling process without the need for cartridges, the large ink capacity, and the aesthetics.

I’ve been using them with my Moleskine sketchbook (60gsm), very smooth paper. Also, Platinum Carbon black ink.

The purple gives me an occasional “hard start”, I think? Where it won’t put ink down and I have to re-draw the line.

I enjoy them well enough though I like the scratchiness of my dip pens, which these seem to lack. Debating if I just need to get used to that or if there’s an alternative. Maybe a simple modification, or another pen in a similar price point that will give me the feedback I crave.

Is it just tradition that makes most protagonists young and fresh-faced? (Yet often also somehow as canny as someone with twice their life experience?)

Is it due to the readership? Are most readers of the genre in their teens and twenties and want someone relatable?

I’m assuming those stories are the ones that do well and that’s why they get written, but I would *love* to see more stories featuring older, more experienced characters.

Especially if you’re gonna have a love interest. Enough with the awkward puppy love, give me middle aged new romance where the pale involved know what they want and what they won’t put up with.

I know part of it is probably “an older person would be less physically able to deal a sudden shift from normal life to adventure” but for one, life experience could make up for that (I know plenty of guys in the SCA who beat the brakes off of each other weekly, and they’re in their 50’s and even 60’s), and two, magic and sci fi can obviously easily account for physical disparity.
