Hey there, first time posting here and new to this subreddit :) It's summer vacation, and the school term is over! I want to work on practicing in public at a park. I am nervous about how I will be received, though! I have been playing for 17-ish weeks now and want to start working on public performance confidence :) One of my summer goals is to play confidently as a street musician and earn tips :)

Should I just bring the instrument, sheet music, and stand, and just start playing? I would love to know how to start doing this :) I have a couple of practice books. Would it be okay to just play some bits from the practice books and do exercises?

Any advice would be extremely appreciated <3 <3 Thank you so so much <3

Hello! Here is an update from when I posted a few weeks ago about my trombone solo audition for a scholarship :) I GOT A MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP :) I got an award of $1000 to be split between two semesters. ($500 each semester.) I played "Ruby" from the Trombone Gems book :) I am still working on getting better at it, but I am also learning that the music is never perfect :)

I was so worried during the audition >,< I have improved A LOT since I auditioned almost 1.5 months ago! I can't wait to see my growth and share it with you guys <3 Thank you to everyone who supports me on my pursuit of becoming a world-famous trombonist <3

It truly means so much to me! This place has been very helpful, and I am learning so much just reading posts.

I am aware I struggle a bit with the accuracy with 3rd position >,< But wanted to post my progress since I've been playing trombone for 16 weeks now :) I always enjoy posting little progress updates on the subreddit! Sorry that I haven't been as active on here lately, but since I'm done with school for the summer, that's about to change :)
