My husband with degenerative disk disease is considering culinary school. I think this is a bad idea. He can hardly stand up cooking at home without out pain. He doesn't want to hear this. How would you approach this?

He has a hot temper and starts yelling and slamming doors when challenged. Should I let him do this and suffer? I am at a loss.

Boss asked me my thoughts about s coworker and her excessive call outd

I work for a very small company. The office "pet" has called out over 50 times this year, same as every year. He had openly admitted he doesn't like confrontation. Rather than address her, he just nags and nitpicks her to the verge of tears.

He asked me if I have any idea why she is always out. It is obvious she is an alcoholic and is hungover. We work from home so I also suspect she's drinking at work. I have no proof of this so I declined to answer and told him he needs to speak with HR, not one of her colleagues.

He seemed irritated with my reluctance to answer him. I don't know why but this gives me a weird feeling this was a setup. He knows I think he is a coward even though I have never said that to him or anyone else. I don't like him and vice versa.

Should I have answered him? Does this seem fishy to anyone else?

How would you gently tell a very temperamental person they are talking too much to avoid an explosion?

Context:

Someone in my life constantly talks. They talk over everyone, talk when people are watching TV or a movie, talk when people are working, and just incessantly yammer and ramble without any self-awareness. They get so angry and hostile when confronted and start explaining what a conversation is.

Banter is one thing. A solo speech is something entirely different. I would like to keep the peace, but that isn't always possible.

The TV and movie thing seems intentional. Once they realize the attention isn't on them, they start talking similar to a child saying "Mom, mom, mom " the second mom is on the phone

How would you approach this person? I am at the end of my rope.

Oblivious gross people

I went thrift shopping with a friend on my lunch break. I kept smelling really bad BO. It followed me. I chalked it up to some homeless people shopping.

When I mentioned to my friend that someone really stinks, she got really mad and told me to shut the hell up. I realized it was **HER.**

One of the hottest days in Houston and she decided to wear mohair pants **with no underwear.** Her sweaty crotch and butt crack were assaulting me for 30 minutes. Wtf? How do people make it in life being so oblivious?

Interrupting someone who works remotely

I work from home. If the door is closed, don't open it to tell me about the funny video you just watched. Don't blurt things out from the other room without checking to see if I am busy.

*Working* from home doesn't mean we are available on a dime to talk.
