Playing Tonight: Don Cherry, Carlos Ward, Dollar Brand.

I was so chuffed to find this record in Kyoto. Been wanting a copy for a long time!

Playing tonight from the Japanese haul

Jiro Inagaki with Chuck Rainey. From 1978. Never seen this before coming across it in Kyoto. Includes a version of the Starsky and Hutch theme!

Just back from Japan. Went a bit crazy, but what fun!

Thanks for so many great recommendations for record shops in Tokyo and Kyoto from members of this sub! As you will see from the photo, I made the most of it! Disk Union Jazz store and their Rare Groove store in Tokyo plus Face Records (a local recommendation) and Toradra Record (an unplanned stumble) in Kyoto were the prime hunting spots for me!

I am now home in the UK and enjoying working my way through these great records.

Tokyo Record Shops

Hi all - I am on a trip to Japan in about ten days which I'm very excited about. I've put aside a day in Tokyo to explore some good record shops, particularly for Jazz (and especially J Jazz). Does anyone here have any recommendations? Any suggestions received with much gratitude!

Proud new owner of a Garrard 401

So happy to have got my hands on this! In perfect working order and seemingly hardly used. Without doubt the best turntable I've ever owned.

Hi all. I wonder if anyone can help me? I recently bought an absolutely pristine 1977 Japanese pressing of John Coltrane's Live at the Village Vanguard Again! and inside the gatefold is the text and photography from Africa Brass Sessions Vol 2 (see pics) !! I haven't been able to find any reference to this misprint anywhere. Has anyone come across it before?
