PERPLEXITY FORCES C:\ INSTALL LOCATION IN WINDOWS?!?

Seriously?
Move doesn't work (not allowed by the PUBLISHER error which is unacceptable, devious, and suspicious).
Setting default new apps location in SYSTEM>STORAGE doesn't work. (We couldn't move Perplexity The publisher of this app doesn't allow it to be moved to a different location.)
The error code is 0x80073d21, in case you need it.)
Regedit for adding values to force to accept alternate drives doesn't work.
Are you seriously telling me I have NO CHOICE in where the Perplexity Windows App installs and if I want to store the local AI that it offers, I have to add 36GB+ to my drive that is meant for OS only?!
I can't believe that this is an actual issue I am running into.
"This app must install to your system drive, but that's not the default. Go to Storage > Change where new content is saved, select your system drive, and retry the install. 0X80073D21"

I sincerely hope I am just doing something wrong and someone here can call me an idiot and correct me (do both parts, not just the first). But if not, they just designed their way out of a Pro subscription. I refuse to have ANY software that I do not fully control on my OS drive and in 2026, this shouldn't be an issue that even happens.

Advice? Guidance? Correction?

Thanks in advance.

Close up taken from Reading Rainbow behind the scenes of TNG

There's a video on YouTube if you want more shots. They say that it was a complete kit bash and that the runners on the outside are disposable razors which you should be able to make out. I had to use AI to clean up the photo a little bit cuz it was a picture for my TV but it should be just about the same.

I thought maybe some other super nerds might find it interesting. Cuz I don't even know if it has a name.

Breakdown: What T-Mobile ACTUALLY Changed in the New Terms & Conditions (Effective Sept 1, 2026)

The following is a lesson in corporate overreach and legal CYA tactics.

If you received the notification about T-Mobile updating their Terms & Conditions, you aren't alone. Like usual, they sent out a passive legal notice, but they didn't explicitly spell out what actually changed behind the scenes.

Here is the complete, section-by-section breakdown of the major legal shifts hidden inside the updated text, along with what each change means for you in plain language.

1. Complete Removal of the 30-Day Arbitration Opt-Out

The Change: In prior versions of the Terms & Conditions, new or existing customers had a 30-day window from activation or agreement updates to opt out of forced binding arbitration (by calling a specific phone number or submitting a form online). That opt-out option has been completely scrubbed from the agreement.

What this means: You no longer have any choice or grace period to keep your right to sue T-Mobile in a real court of law or join class-action lawsuits. You are automatically locked into mandatory private arbitration, with zero option to decline or opt out.

2. Arbitrators Decide Their Own Jurisdiction (Bypassing Judges)

The Change: Under the Dispute Resolution section, T-Mobile added explicit language giving the arbitrator (not a court or judge) the exclusive authority to rule on their own jurisdiction. This includes letting the arbitrator decide whether the arbitration clause itself is valid, legal, or enforceable.

What this means: Normally, if a contract clause is unfair or illegal, you can ask an independent judge in court to throw it out. Now, T-Mobile has written the contract so that the arbitrator, who is hired and paid through the arbitration process, gets sole power to decide if T-Mobile's rules are fair, cutting judges out of the picture entirely.

3. Removal of Legacy "Price Lock" Guarantee Language

The Change: Previous T&C agreements contained broad language stating that if you were on a price-locked rate plan, T-Mobile would not increase your recurring monthly charge "for as long as you continuously remain a customer in good standing." That broad guarantee language was stripped out of the general Rate Plan section, restricting price guarantees to short-term, specific promotional terms.

What this means: T-Mobile is giving themselves legal breathing room to raise monthly rates on older plans down the line. By stripping out permanent price protections from the main terms, they can treat price locks as temporary promotional deals rather than permanent, unchangeable contracts.

4. New Liability Shield for Property & Installation Damage

The Change: Under LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY, T-Mobile inserted an explicit disclaimer protecting themselves from paying for physical damage:

"T-Mobile shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage to real or personal property arising out of installation, maintenance, or removal activities... This includes damage to walls, floors, wiring, landscaping, or other physical structures affected during the installation process." (Unless caused by "gross negligence").

What this means: If a Home Internet or hardware installer drills through your wall, ruins your flooring, or messes up your electrical wiring during setup or removal, you can't easily demand T-Mobile pay for the repairs. Unless you can prove extreme, outrageous misconduct ("gross negligence"), you are stuck footing the repair bill yourself.

5. Forced "Passive Consent" ("Continued Use Equals Acceptance")

The Change: Under “CAN T-MOBILE CHANGE, LIMIT, SUSPEND, OR TERMINATE MY SERVICES OR THE AGREEMENT?”, they explicitly state:

"Your continued use of or payment for our Services or Product after the effective date of the change means you have accepted the changes."

What this means: T-Mobile is claiming that simply paying your monthly bill or keeping your phone service active counts as legally agreeing to every single change in these updated terms. They don't need you to click "I Agree"—your monthly payment is treated as automatic, passive consent.

6. Account Termination for "Theft" & B2B Privacy Shift

The Change: "Theft" was added as an explicit trigger for immediate service termination. Additionally, T-Mobile for Business accounts set up using a personal Social Security Number (sole proprietorships, freelancers, small accounts) are now explicitly routed under the consumer Privacy Notice instead of the B2B Privacy Notice.

What this means: T-Mobile is giving themselves quicker grounds to shut off lines for suspected device or service theft. Furthermore, if you run a small business or freelance work under your SSN, your personal data is treated under standard consumer tracking and data-sharing rules rather than stricter enterprise privacy protections.

(Legal Note: If you are currently in active litigation or an existing legal dispute with T-Mobile, standard contract law dictates that a company cannot unilaterally alter contract terms retroactively to affect an active proceeding. Pre-existing claims are governed by the terms in effect at the time the dispute arose.)

Washington State Law: Domino's cannot force you to take "Store Credit" if they deliver the completely wrong item. Know your rights!

Hey everyone, I wanted to clear up a major misconception regarding your rights when a fast-food chain or restaurant completely messes up your delivery.

A lot of local stores try to dodge actual refunds by telling customers, "We can only give you store credit/a coupon for next time." If you are in Washington State, this is flat-out illegal when they deliver a completely incorrect product.

Here is exactly how the law works and why you have a right to your cash back:

1. Delivery of Non-Conforming Goods (Breach of Contract)

When you place an order on an app, you enter a legally binding contract for specific goods. Under Washington's Uniform Commercial Code (RCW 62A.2-601), if the goods delivered fail in any respect to conform to the contract, the buyer has the absolute right to reject the delivery.

Delivering a completely different item than what you paid for is a delivery of "non-conforming goods." Under RCW 62A.2-711, when a buyer rightfully rejects non-conforming goods, they are legally entitled to recover "so much of the price as has been paid"—meaning a full refund to the original payment method, not a store gift card or app credit.

2. The Implied Warranty of Merchantability

Under RCW 62A.2-314, every commercial sale of goods in Washington carries an automatic, unwritten Implied Warranty of Merchantability. This means the product must be fit for the ordinary purposes for which it is used and must accurately match the description of what you bought.

The Size Analogy: If you buy a shirt online, pick the wrong size yourself, and want to return it, a store can legally offer just store credit (if their policy is clearly posted).

The Wrong Product Reality: If you order a specific item and they hand you something entirely different, or an item containing a severe allergen (like pineapple assuming you didn't actually add it during order creation) that makes it dangerous to consume, they have breached this implied warranty.

Note: No, "Contactless Delivery" is not Acceptance. Nor is not inspecting the pizza before bringing it inside if you do except delivery personally. Some people might argue, "Well, you accepted the delivery on your porch, so it’s yours now." Wrong. Under Washington Law (RCW 62A.2-606), legal acceptance cannot occur until the buyer has had a "reasonable opportunity to inspect" the goods. In the era of modern contactless delivery, you are not legally required to inspect your food on your porch step. Your reasonable opportunity happens when you open the box inside. The exact moment you call the store to report the mistake, you are legally notifying them of your rejection under RCW 62A.2-602.

What to do if a store refuses a refund:

Quote the law: Inform the manager that under Washington State UCC law (RCW 62A.2-601 and RCW 62A.2-711), you are exercising your right to reject non-conforming, hazardous goods and are legally entitled to a cash/card refund, not store credit. I did this politely and cordially and was denied my money and told it was all they were allowed to do per instructions from the corporation directly. So that is where the law is broken and adhering to the law, no matter how small, isn't petty. It's fair and just. And that's all that matters.

No App Guarantee: Even if you try to skip the hostile local manager entirely, the app simply takes you to a help web page that is all text and no contact information to address this specific issue. I looked at the order tracker for automated error resolution tools or corporate "remake/refund" protocols. I wasn't able to find anything.

IMPORTANT!!!:

Dispute the Charge: If they absolutely refuse to refund your money, immediately call your bank or log into your credit card app. File a chargeback under "Merchandise not received" or "Not as described." Your bank will claw the money back instantly, and the merchant gets penalized with a chargeback fee.

Stop letting corporate franchises use store credit to trap your hard-earned money after their mistakes. Hold them accountable!

On a personal note, in a time where those that have much scream of a gilded age, those of us that have less are living in a land of $20 cheeseburgers, shrinkflation, what used to be considered fun size candy bars being sold at king size prices, Oreos being rotated inside there box so you receive less overall, $5 white bread, $4 gallon of milk, $6 gas, the average first-time home buyer being between the ages of 44 and 48, an entire nation of debt, and constantly increasing shareholder value by companies like Domino's for ripping you off. Even if it's just a $10 Pizza, don't let them get away with breaking the law and making you the victim. Don't be a Karen. Remember, the guy or gal on the other end of the line is just trying to feed their family and is in the same position as you, being ripped off all day long too. They may have made the mistake but it's Domino's corporate office who set the policy and is misinforming them to tell them to break the law when it comes to refunds so they can get their greedy little hands on every single dollar that they can squeeze from you.

I can sum this up in two words but I already expect the mods to remove this honest, truthful, factual, legally sound and accurate post.

Know your rights. Exercise them or watch them be taken away a little bit at a time until you have none left.

Google App on PC just removed "Open in Gemini Window"! It's a completely horrible decision that ruins the app that I will now never use for anything complex.

Am I simply missing something? I am beyond frustrated with the absolute idiocy of the recent UI changes to the standalone Google App on PC. There used to be a seamless, frictionless shortcut right in the hamburger menu that let you instantly hand off your current conversation to a dedicated Gemini window in Chrome.

That option is completely gone, and it is a horrible decision.

Let's be clear: the lightweight model running natively inside the standalone PC app container is simple and completely useless for complex, high-level creative work. Pulling the ability to move a session over to Pro mode completely destroys the app's utility.

Because of this change, I will never use this standalone app for anything important again. It is now strictly relegated to simple, low-effort questions that I could easily just ask a Google Home speaker or use "OK Google" to solve.

If I am forced to manually break my creative flow, open a separate browser tab, and copy-paste my context over just to access the advanced Pro features I actually pay for, I am simply not going to bother. Instead, I will just spend my time using other AI apps that don't intentionally sabotage user productivity.

This short-sighted choice is going to lead to significantly LESS overall use of Gemini. Who made this terrible decision? It negatively impacts the core user base and actively stops people from transitioning over to Gemini proper, guaranteeing that people will just abandon the platform entirely for significant tasks.
