Finally finished a starter box for once!!

I’ve been in and out of the hobby since 1993 or 1994 I started with 2nd edition and have played many editions since then but not all, I now have the new box but split it with a friend and I kept the orks. I have steadily improved and now have completed my 1st ever full box (well, the ork side at least) I am super happy with how they came out and can’t wait to paint the rest I have picked out from GW and 3rd party sites. I have lootas that look awesome, that I got from Etsy but I’ll still use them in legend rules, they are to good and look to pretty not to!

Anyway super chuffed with myself and can’t want to grow my horde.

Just wish my war track looked a little better, and yes I’m basing my gretchin tonight!!

Grots and runt herder box spare parts

I want to make a runt herder for the grots you get in the Armageddon box. I have a box of boys I am yet to build (the old kit with 11 boyz) and was thinking if I buy a box of grots and the herder will I have any parts left over to convert a regular boy into a second runt herder?

I hope so as it would be easier to do this then green stuff the bits I want, any answers welcome

Trying to decide if I do bad moons or another clan

I’m trying to decide between clans for the new part of my ork army, I’m by no means a beginner but I’m not to experienced with yellow, I think the bad moons look awesome, but so do goths and other ones too, if you have any pictures or advice for someone who wants to get used to painting yellow let me know please and I’d love you to show me some of the models you’ve painted so I can get some more inspiration for my next project

Finally got a little bit set up ready for painting in my new house

I moved house over a month ago which means I’ve not been able to print or play for over 2-3 months while everything was packed up, finally got a new area set up and ready to start painting again, just waiting on a new section for the back of my desk for be able to place items I use a lot on hooks and in pots, desk has many electrical outlets as well as USB C outlets in the area behind the desk, super happy with how it’s starting out

Which version of landraider

I’ve decided to add a landraider to my army over another grav tank, the only issue is that I can’t decide between the 40k variant or the 30k one, I think they both look great, is there anything that is massively different between them such as size or weapons on the models that are not in the data sheet for the custodes version, any advice is welcome as I hope to make my purchase later today

1000 pt intro game

I got a good friend from work into 40k and they have an army of sisters of battle ready to play, he has just over 1000 pts of mixed units, some basic troops, saint celestine a tank a d some other bits, I have a small list of custodes ready to go as he waned to play against them rather than my Tyranids. Just wanted to run this list past a few of you to make sure it seems fair and gives him a few targets without being to OP, I’m thinking to maybe drop anything that would make it to hard for him. I’m also not going to be playing to aggressively as I want him to be able to test out his units and make sure he has a little fun.

Last points to fill a 2000 pt list

To finish my army I’m not sure if I should use a land raider or a 2nd grav tank from my list what should I include? It’s a list of models I like so it’s not massively competitive as I only play amongst friends and we’re not to serious about getting meta lists, just can’t decide between the raider and grav, if I get a grav it would mean dedicated anti tank but so would the land raider with the lascannons but I can also transport 1 set of troops up faster and safer, I really like both tanks and would prob get the 30k land raider if I go for that over another grav tank

What do I need to know as a beginner?

I was just gifted this box set for moving into my new house by a good friend, I normally play and paint 40k models and this is all new to me, what should I be aware of when setting up this box set for playing and also for putting it together and painting? Do I need to part assemble some of it to make painting easier or anything like that, is it all just 1 build option or does the box contain different ways to build and equip models? Any advice is welcome to a new player in bolt action
