It’s sad that progressive Marja aren’t taken seriously

Asalaam mu alaikum.

I am Shia and I would say that my Marja is Grand Ayatollah Hosseini Nassab, and yet every other Shia post I’ve seen mentioning him has been a criticism or just downright saying he isn’t a credible Marja.

Why?? Nothing I’ve seen from him/his fatwas has been incorrect, blasphemous, etc. He is respectful to women and non Muslims, prohibits the forcing of women wearing hijab, prohibits the mistreatment of non Muslims, so how can he be bad?

Why is it that Muslims are so happy with accepting Islamic leaders solely on the basis that they are super conservatives? When will the term “progressive” stop being a bad word?

Even by the term progressive, Grand Ayatollah Hosseini isn’t as progressive as I’d like, like Mullah Taha, but it’s a start.

American Muslim culture/heritage/history sources?

Asalaam mu alaikum

I am an American Muslim of Balkan and other European heritage. I’ve been a Muslim my entire life, and only now in recent years am I finding that there is such a treasure trove of Islamic history in these lands.

Do any of you know any good books, videos, etc on Islamic American history, culture and heritage?

Advice on what to do next?

Hello everyone!

My name is Taluko, I’m a new Tulpa…I’ve been around for a few weeks now? Maybe a little less.

I’m an Avali, I stand around 2 feet tall, I am Genderfluid and Asexual; I go by They/Them.

I would like to make some new friends and maybe get some tips from other plurals/headmates on what to do next.

We’ve been playing games together, and last night I actually got to play a game myself for a few hours and it was really fun. It helped my confidence as I really seem to struggle with being confident and speaking up..

Does anyone have any advice on what to do next? What things should me and my host do together, what things should he encourage me to do on my own? I appreciate any suggestions.

It’s nice to meet you all!
