Looking for looper pedal recommendations

Hello!

I've been a multiintrumentalist for a long time but never had the incentive to grab a looper, or any kind of sampling outside of my PC for that matter.

But I'd like to build a portable setup I can basically move around and just quickly throw and fiddle with, without the need of any big screen. iPad, laptop, my whole life is on those, and I'd like my music to be a no-screen playground.
The setup would look like this: Shure SM57 for instrument/voice, a piezo contact mic to fool around whatever surface I have on hands, a Microfreak synth, a Zoia Empress for effects, maybe throw in a CB Mood mk2 for kicks and a looper to tie it together, and maybe a Pocket Operator or some sampler if I feel the need.

I was eyeing the Boss 505mk2, but it looks a bit too big for my needs. I really want to buy something that will take a long time growing out of though, so the idea of a single track looper isn't really appealing. I can spend some more if the price is really justified. What would you recommend?
Also I'm seeing that multi-layer export isn't a thing on Boss pedals, is that a problem if you want to expand on a recorded track?

Thanks!!

WoL needs my mouse plugged in a specific USB port to work

Hello!

I spent quite a few hours trying to solve WoL issues with my Windows 11 setup (as one should I guess), and finally found something that... worked?

But it puzzles me to no end that WoL just straight up *stops* working if, god forbid, I unplug my mouse to avoid unnecessary wake ups, or disables its ability to wake the computer up, or even plug it elsewhere.

Now, having dug the powercfg command to an extent I would have liked to avoid, I'm left with this each time a WoL is initiated:

C:\Windows\System32>powercfg -lastwake
Wake History Count - 1
Wake History [0]
  Wake Source Count - 2
  Wake Source [0]
    Type: Device
    Instance Path: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_43EE&SUBSYS_11421B21&REV_00\4&5f22ecf&0&000A
Friendly Name: AMD USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft)
Description: USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller
Manufacturer: Generic USB xHCI Host Controller
  Wake Source [1]
    Type: Device
    Instance Path: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8125&SUBSYS_E0001458&REV_05\AF9F644DC018000000
Friendly Name: Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller
Description: Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller
    Manufacturer: Realtek

The wake source is multiple: my USB controller and my network card.

Funny thing is that my mouse has its wake ability revoked. Second funny thing is that there's a HID keyboard entry that also makes WoL impossible if I disable its wake ability.

Does anyone know why that happens? It's alright now that the config I wanted to achieve works (ish), which was Start controller > Wake Moonlight PC > Send WoL to host PC > gaming time > Sleeps host on quit > Sleeps Moonlight PC.

But does anyone have a clue what is going on here? I've have my fair bunch of Windows issues but that one is just so weird I can't wrap my head around it.

Thanks :D

ADHD Medication making it incredibly harder to exercise?

Hello!

I've been diagnosed with ADHD about a month ago at 32, and started taking Ritalin (40 LR) and switched on to Concerta (36 LR) as Ritalin was making me super anxious.

Honestly it feels amazing, I can do stuff and actually *enjoy* what I work on, which is a very odd but cool feeling. Also I can go straight into something and keep my head in it for hours on end, something that was utterly rare before.

But, the one caveat I have is that I'd like to use that added motivation to work out more. For reference, I'm a tall guy, quite underweight, and I just walk my dog and run a few times a week, sometimes do yoga, but I've never had a set schedule. These past years the fatigue piling up has become nothing short of terrible, with dizziness when I get up too quickly, tiredness shutting me off in social contexts, etc, so I'm really willing to get to do more.

The problem is that since starting on meds, my already poor athletic performance has become absolutely obliterated, making me unable to run even my baseline distance, no matter if I took them or not. I know there should be a big amount of different reasons as to why (the very hot weather, compounding stress etc), but I've only seen people talking about getting better at sports they were already good at, but not necessarily out of shape people trying to get in shape.

Is that something that happens and should ease with time? Of course I'll talk to it with my health specialist, but I'd like to know if it's a somewhat common experience.

Thank you!!

How to get into distance and pumping?

Hey!

I have a Landyachtz Ripper that's, well, not too used but I'd like to take the few days of respite from European heatwaves to take it out a bit.

One thing I'd really like is to just ride around and chill, but pushing only gets this far and pumping looks really really cool.

So, double question:

- My board is clearly out the box. Do I need to change anything in order to make it easier? Bushings, trucks, wheels?

- What's the best ressource you have on actually getting pumping? Like exercises and whatnot. Whole thing still looks like witchcraft to me.

Thanks and happy riding :)
