Help ID and Rate My DIY Extermination plan

I’m moving myself and my pregnant wife into a single family home in a few weeks. Yesterday I looked more closely at everything and found what I believed to be German roaches. I found some dead adults in the kitchen and in the basement. I also found what I believe to be young living German roaches (need help with id) in the kitchen and a live centipede in the basement. I hired a pest control company but they can’t come until Sept 1 and we move in Sept 4 so I want to do as much as I can now. I did read the sticky so I have a plan but would appreciate advice to ensure I’m using this time before our move-in as wisely as possible:

  1. I’m planning to hire exclusion specialists to close cracks and prevent entry of any pests (roaches and others). I understand the main goal is extermination but figure it can’t hurt to block entry

  2. I have a cart with 30g Alpine WSG, Gentrol IGR concentrate, Advion gel bait, and 2L pump sprayer. I’m planning to mix the Alpine and Gentrol for my spray

  3. My application plan is to pull back all kitchen appliances and spray as well as spray the entire indoor perimeter and all bathrooms. For the gel bait I’m planning to apply to index cards and place in each area I specifically saw them: kitchen around appliances, under window, basement wet bar and basement perimeter

  4. I want to spray every 5 to 6 days or so until move-in

I would really appreciate any advice on this plan. I’m really hoping to get to a point where we feel comfortable and clean when moving in to the new home.

Can't replace outlets and switches in my own home?

Hello, I recently moved into the area and am looking to do simple changes like swapping out light switches and outlets. I've done such changes in a prior home (not in MD). I'm confirming the permit situation with the Rockville Permits Department and I'm being told that the exam for homeowners hasn't been offered since 2024 and that I would need to become a master electrician in the state of MD to make these changes? I wanted to speak to a manager or someone higher but they were not available. I'm a little surprised as a homeowner there's no path to do this myself without being a master electrician. Does this sound correct to folks here? Maybe I need to turn this post into an electrician recommendation post...
