An Innocent Man with this label

I've got An Innocent Man by Billy Joel but just noticed this thingy on the back. It's embossed so probably a sticker. Any info on this? I bought it in The Netherlands btw.

Decided to replicate UT99 movement in Unity : Part Deux

Part Uno

It's been about a year since the first video and while the character controller felt nice, it also had some quirks that I couldn't get fixed. Quirks inherent to me using a non-kinematic rigidbody controller and a raycast suspension system. It was also a chore to setup.

This time made a new controller from scratch using a kinematic rigidbody. Buttery smooth, almost no quirks, easy to setup.

Now I feel confident to continue with actually creating something around this. I've got some ideas, but time will tell if anything comes to fruition. For now, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask :)

Repaired and revised a PHILIPS 22GA212

My parents are going to celebrate a couple of things all in one in a couple of weeks, so I wanted to give them something special. They've always regretted giving away their turntable and records back in the early 00s, so I'm going to give them a full PHILIPS-set (turntable, amplifier and speakers) since my dad used to work for PHILIPS back in the 80s and they've been a fan of the brand ever since.

Earlier this year I picked up a pretty worn down 212. It was in a working-ish state. Stuck on 'on' and only 33RPM worked like it should. So here's what I've done to restore this beauty:

  • Replaced lights for 33RPM, 44RPM, STOP and the autostop function.
  • Replaced on/off switch.
  • Polished wood skirting.
  • Cleaned the aluminium body.
  • Cleaned the tone arm.
  • Cleaned the platter.
  • Created a custom cover plate for the head shell.
  • Created a custom plate for the dust cover (didn't like the black plate).
  • Wet sanded and polished the dust cover.
  • Converted the cable with DIN-connector to built in RCA with an optional separate ground.

It works flawlessly now and looks incredible. It has some noticeable wear, but that's fine for a 50 year old player. Really love the look of this thing. The last photo shows the 212 the day I brought it home. Also to note: before this I had never restored anything like this, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I'm really happy I just went for it.

Trying to find an Italian song from a trailer

Song starts around the 1 minute mark. I've tried Google and ChatGPT but cannot find the song. It also doesn't help that I don't speak Italian, so searching using the words doesn't work all that well. Searching for Felitica almost always comes back to Felicita from Al Bano & Romina Power, but that's not the song used in the trailer.
