Domicile help

Assalam-o-Alaikum.

I originally have a Punjab domicile, but I completed my MBBS from a medical college in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and I am currently doing my house job in KP as well. By the time I finish, I will have lived and studied/trained in KP for around 5–6 years continuously.

I am considering changing my domicile from Punjab to KP because most of my education and professional training has been in KP, and it may provide better opportunities for government jobs and postgraduate medical training there.

I would like to know:

• Is it legally possible to obtain a KP domicile on the basis of long-term residence, education, and house job in KP if my family is not originally from KP?

• What documents are usually required?

• How strict is the verification process?

• How long does the process normally take?

• Has anyone here personally gone through a similar domicile change?

Any guidance from advocates or people with practical experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Domicile Change

I did my MBBS from a KP medical college and I'm currently doing my house job in KP too — so around 5-6 years of continuous residence there by the time I finish.

CIP deducts 2.5 which makes it hard to get in Internal medicine and surgery...i will be left with 19.7-20 marks if i manage to passin first attempt ..

Thinking of switching my domicile to KP since my whole training background is there anyway , and it would open up options like PGMI internal medicine residency and KP govt jobs.

so should i opt for this option? or what possibilities i will have in punjab with this situation

Has anyone gone through this process — switching domicile based on residence during MBBS/house job (not because your family is originally from there)? How strict was the verification, what documents actually mattered most, and roughly how long did it take?

Would appreciate any info. Thanks

Fcps HJ marks

Assalam-o-Alaikum.

Have Punjab domicile but completed MBBSfrom(KPK).

If I do my house job in a Punjab hospital (e.g., PAFhospital Holy Family, etc.), will I still get only 2.5house job marks because my MBBS institution is outside Punjab?

Or is there any way to qualify for the full 5 marks?

Anyone with a similar experience please guideAfter HJ my marks will be in 19.5-20 Range if ipass in First attempt.... Anyone in this range can get in Fcps Medicine or any other?2.5 is a significant drop but is there any way around to it

I am also preparing for Foreign...so i what will work out?

People who passed Step 1: what did you do after finishing UWorld?

Need some advice from those who recently passed Step 1.

I've completed ~98% of UWorld, mostly system-wise. (Not random wise) Major systems were done a few months ago...recently done Generals ....so I feel some topics from system aren't as fresh now( i think i need a revision). I've just started random timed blocks and getting (60-75%)and am unsure what to do next.

Should I:

• 1)Focus on FA + Mehlman revision first?

(What revision plan u advice...how much time i allocate for it)

• 2)Continue random UWorld + incorrects daily?

  1. Both 1 and 2 until i become familiar with systems again and confident for first nbme

•4)Take an NBME soon and let it guide my revision?

What worked best for you at this stage

Looking for information about fcps1 and training induction process in Punjab

I am planning to start residency training in medicine or allied but I don't have much information about the details regarding the process, rules etc. I am an old graduate so particularly unaware of the recent rules and how it works in punjab specifically. Please guide me regarding any specific rules of fcps 1and training induction tests, and whatever i should be knowing in this regard.

Available slots/opportunities in medicine vs allied

Is there a possibility of having to do it unpaid?

I don't have a domicile of Punjab so will that be a problem for getting a training slot in government hospitals?

Would be really grateful for all the insight.

When to take First Nbme

I'm ~67% through UWorld, doing 40–50 questions/day. I've covered most systems, but still have Repro, Derm, Psych, Ethics, Biostats, and about half of Micro and immuno left. I also plan to do a quick revision of the systems I've already completed.

I have about 7 weeks before starting house job and would like to sit for Step 1 before then if possible. My dilemma is whether to:

Take an NBME now to get a baseline score,

Wait until I finish the remaining subjects and do a first-pass revision,

Or finish UWorld first (though that may delay things, and I still need to watch videos for the remaining topics).

For those who have been in a similar situation, what would you do? At what point did you take your first NBME?

Does taking nbme now makes difference?

Fee pay by US Card

Has anyone paid ECFMG fees using a relative's U.S. debit/credit card? Was only the ECFMG fee deducted, or were there any extra charges/taxes?

Has anyone did this to get rid of taxes....

Recurrent leg/knee swelling + NSAID allergy — need advice on safe pain options

My mother (around 45) has recurrent left leg swelling with pain mainly behind the knee and sometimes extending to the calf. There is a palpable lump in the popliteal area. Pain worsens with walking and knee movement, with occasional stiffness and a “crackling” sensation in the knee.

She likely has NSAID hypersensitivity — she developed facial/periorbital swelling and itching after diclofenac injection and also after diclofenac gel, so we are avoiding NSAIDs. She tolerates paracetamol.

Currently elevation and heat help partially, but symptoms keep recurring and affect mobility. We are unsure if this is something like a Baker cyst/knee joint issue or something vascular, and we are also looking for safe pain control options given her NSAID allergy.

Has anyone experienced similar NSAID reactions or knee swelling issues and found safe alternatives or effective management strategies?
