Need advice on a confusing relationship

Need advice on a confusing relationship

I’m a 17F and I’ve been in a relationship with a 19M who is also a close relative. We first got together when I was 14, but I ended things about a year later because his family and mindset were pretty different from mine.

A couple years later, when I was 16, he randomly saw me somewhere and reached out again, and we got back together. Over time, he found out more about my past, and it really hurt him. Since then, he’s started seeing me in a negative way and constantly compares me to other girls, saying they’re better than me. He also says he doesn’t feel that “special connection” with me anymore like he used to.

We’ve broken up and gotten back together SO many times. Either he comes back or I convince him to give it another chance. But now it feels like neither of us has the same feelings anymore.

The weird part is that whenever we’re apart, we miss each other and end up coming back. But as soon as we’re together again, it’s the same exhausting, frustrating cycle. We don’t even feel happy or excited to be together anymore.

So I’m genuinely confused. Is this just a normal phase in relationships, especially since we’re long-distance, or does this sound like a relationship that has simply run its course?

Should we actually let each other go, or is there something worth trying before ending things for good? I’d really appreciate some honest advice, especially from people who’ve been through something similar.
