So i just got done with A levels and I want to start off preparing for MDCAT, NUMS and Shifa. I am confused on whether to join an academy or not, or should I just sit back at home use FTB books and revision notes from some where and practice MCQs? Second if I do join an academy which is the best? I have searched up a few options like KIPS, Nearpeer, Premed and apparently kips was suggested by a senior as well. If I join one, then should I go for physical classes or online? and if someone did study from KIPS do they have the same resources and stuff for either online or physical? also If I join an academy do I have to still buy the ftb books or do they provide it all in the package? and also which grades of ftb books like 11 and 12 th only and which subjects? PLEASE SOMEONE HELPP!!

Guys , all of you , freshers and repeaters you people need to take a break and relax , i have been seeing so many posts regarding nums and mdcat dates , GUYS KISI AIK BHI SAAL MDCAT APNI ACCURATE DATE PEI NAHI HUA SINCE 2020 !! every single year , mdcat ki date ati hai and 2 weeks pehle if everything is normal it gets delayed for 2 weeks or so , same happened with us in 2023 , our mdcat was supposed to be held on 8th august or 16th ig , and it delayed to 10th or 5th sep , so relax , secondly even if , lets suppose mdcat exact date pei hojata hai toh woh sab kei lye same date hai na? saray freshers will prepare in 1.5 month and pmdc obviously knows this toh woh paper bhi issi level ka banaye gi , issi lye relax and chill , right now main problem jo abhi nahi saal kei start sei honi chaye thi for everyone woh validity ka hona chaye tha but yeah hamay hosh kaafi late ata hai , more then 80% pujab domiciled repeaters have already 90+ aggregate but no one talks about it ? it is obvious that like last year another major , i repeat almosty 70-75% of gov seats will be taken by repeaters , and ab toh exact yehi haal iss saal kpk ka bhi honay wala hai !!! no one talks about it , and those who talk are not uniform !! khair nvm best of luckkkk

its ironic how we r the ones giving mdcat yet not even a single ruling was in our favour. we wanted the 3 year policy to end, fsc % to drop in aggregate, mdcat fees to be reduce, private mafias milking parents for money to be put to justice, but all we got was the time reduction for preps, atp mdcat should be only for repeaters since freshers don't even stand a chance anymore, with the 3 year policy and the time reduction for freshers prep i dont think any of us stand a chance. its pathetic to see

I remember the first time I read over the MDCAT papers that all of my classmates and peers were trying to do, and how many of my friends went and cried after they failed their first proper MDCAT mock. Not because their score was bad, because they had been studying for three months and could not tell you which topics they actually knew and which they just thought they knew.

I'm a doctor now, and so is my brother. We both came from the US to do MBBS in Abbottabad, and now we're back in the US and currently studying for the USMLE + getting ready for the match, so we have done this whole "grind through thousands of MCQs" thing twice. The lesson both times was the same: the questions you got wrong are the only ones that matter, and almost no prep tool actually acts like it.

So, we made one for you guys. Every MDCAT past paper since 2008, free to practice, no account needed. When you get something wrong it goes in a pile, and that pile shows back up days later so you stop forgetting it. There's a paid tier with full mocks and unlimited drills but the practice itself is genuinely free and stays free.

I even applied for aku but pretty evident that i am not meeting the grade requirement so i might not even show up for the test

2 frkn months, literally 2.5? (Considering some of us are composite people as well- taking average)

Last year it was conducted in the last week of October and this year they just decided to cut off 2 months of prep time

Now, HOW THE HEL* DO I DO THAT? Give me a heads up, where do i actually start? Give me a starting position at least. Do i read the books, do i use kips books, do i solve papers, what do i do?

I need 165/180 all i know to secure top medical colleges private seats (smdc/fmh) uhs and (nust/cmh) nums (not even sure if that is 180 or 200 marks idk)

Please give me a starting point

Hellooo. I’ve just gotten done with my A Levels and I want to appear for both MDCAT and NUMS. I live in Lahore, so I wanted to ask: how should I start preparing? Should I join KIPS? Are academies actually useful? Or should I go for an online option like Premed.pk and youtube etc?

Heyyy guys. I wanted to ask some questions regarding the medical colleges in pakistan. Sorry if these questions sound dumb 😭 meri family ya cousins mein koi bhi medical field mein nahi hai so I don’t properly know how all this works.

This year I’m going to give mdcat and nums exams. InshaAllah I’ll try for a govt seat but if that doesn’t happen then I want to ask some questions.

1. What is the basic difference between nums colleges like cmh and other private medical colleges under uhs? Like is there a major fee difference between them?

2. Also which one of these is considered better especially for people who want to move abroad later for further studies? Those under nums or uhs?

3. And lastly are there any scholarships available apart from govt seats?

Pleaseeee someone guide me about these. I am feeling really lost

guys do i need to have domicile if i am giving mdcat as a foreign cadidate but applying to private universities on a local seat

I did my O levels from middle east and my AS levels from middle east but now I am giving my A2 exams from British council from Pakistan. I have a question regarding the Pk studies, history, and Islamic. Now usally you are exempt from them but since im giving A2 from Pak they mention on the website that I'll need to clear my islmic and history. Is that true? I dont have those subjects. But do keep in mind that my AS is from abroad.

How to calculate the aggregate for oa level students

10 percent olevel
40 percent alevel plus olevel
50 percent mdcat
Is this correct ??
40 percent o plus a because fsc people have 1100 marks so to make aggregate, they count o level plus Alevel all together to make alevel 40 percent

HELPPP !!! I havent even touched ANY books !! IS it TOO LATE for me??? I thought it would get pushed to september/october!! I have been so LAZYYYY and DISSOCIATIVE all these months that i didnt even notice how fast all time flew by 😭😭😭and now MDCAT is on 16th of AUGUST as if i couldn't get any more UNLUCKY!
what would be the sane option for me now?

When registering for the nums there is an option where you have to select overseas pakistani or pakistani for you nationality. Which one should I choose I am overseas pakistani. Does it have any affect on the type of seats/quota we are applying for later.

i watch lectures understand the concepts but when it comes to mcqs my brain freezes then when i look at explaination i actually knew it all along how do i overcome thisss
