Hi everyone!

I'm Rhys, the solo developer for HarmoniKeyboard, HKeyboard (coming to EMUI soon), HCloud and more coming soon.

I wanted to make a post to just ask for feedback whenever needed.

I built HarmoniKeyboard for myself, got it published to the AppGallery (CN) due to people asking a me and here we are now, almost 4 months in and I have a keyboard, backup app and currently developing a couple of other apps.

I do ask anyone that wants to support this to visit my Ko-Fi account https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard/goal?g=13 It helps massively!

So, this post, if you have feedback for HarmoniKeyboard or any other Apps, get in touch, I have responded to everyone that I know of so far and will continue to do so. I'm currently working on a huge optimization and language overhaul on V2.1.16 which is taking longer than expected, but it will be worth it.

Any reviews put on the AppGallery, just know that of I haven read the review, I will hit the "thumbs up" button as I cannot reply on there. But all reviews have been noted and low ratings due to bugs have been fixed.

once V2.1.16 Is uploaded, I will be finished HCalculator and Updating HCloud. Also HKeyboard will be almost ready for release too.

HarmoniKeyboard V2.1.16

The keyboard runs a lot smoother now after a fair bit of work on optimisation, glide, autocorrect and predictions. The overall flow is much better. Still work left, but it's a different keyboard to a month ago.

Worth knowing: your dictionary is yours. Settings, Typing, Learned Words lets you delete saved words and stop them being learnt again. I highly recommend going through it. It genuinely changes the keyboard into yours rather than a generic one.

I'm also part way through translating the whole of Settings. Around 28 languages are done. These ones I can't do properly with translation tools and I'd rather ship English than ship nonsense:

Amharic, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bulgarian, Burmese, Hebrew, Hindi, Icelandic, Indonesian, Khmer, Tamil, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese.

If you're a native speaker of any of those and fancy helping, it's about 40 short phrases. I send you a list with the English and my attempt, you mark anything wrong, that's it. Fifteen minutes. Comment or DM.

Also: I've been testing other Huawei keyboards this week. Huawei has opened up a lot since I started building this. Things that were impossible then, like giving Settings its own proper menu system, work now. Testing the competition showed me a few things mine is still missing, and those are going in next.

So look out for the next big update in the next few days, it's a big one, it was not the plan, but I got carried away with just optimizing and now I have a full on large scale update.

As always, if you use the keyboard and want to support what I'm doing, please, feel free to contribute towards my work that helps push forward towards a better user experience for HarmonyOS users. With HKeyboard coming to EMUI in the next couple of weeks, anything will help get this done! https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard

After some effort, HKeyboard is almost done, typing experience of a phantom wipe, customizations of a Worms game character and functionality of HarmoniKeyboard from HarmonyOS NEXT.

HKeyboard will be released very soon, if you want to show your support and help grow this more, click here https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard and buy me a good ol' coffee and maybe an accidental red bull.

Absolute refinements coming!

HarmoniKeyboard V2.1.16 is underway. Now that I have permissions for clipboard and the keyboard can read the input method properly, I am able to get a much more accurate typing and gliding experience.

The keyboard has been somewhat, unfinished. V2.1.15 is uploaded and waiting approval, once that is up, you will notice a nice difference to the keyboard. Especially the suggestionbar and the way the suggestion shortcuts now look and work. Gives you more space to breath.

V2.1.16 will be bringing typing improvements, making sure you can type faster with less mistakes, as an example, before, you could write a sentence, then backspace all the way back and it would still show the Suggestion Bar showing empty but active, that's fixed.

Typing "Hey, what's going on tomorrow? Did you want to go for a walk?" Backspacing all of that would just be removing it, now, backspace to the "tomorrow?" will turn Caps on, because it now recognizes the "?" is there, same with "." and backspacing to remove everything, will Auto-Caps too.

When gliding words, like "Hey, what's weclome?" that weclome? will correct to welcome?, if you now click backspace directly after that "?" is inserted, it will undo the auto-correct while leaving the "?" there.

HarmoniKeyboard is beginning to look and feel great, older devices are getting optimizations on the keyboard, trying to get the keyboard to read the phone settings so the keyboard can adapt to the phone spec is the difficult part as it's another "Permissions" wall, but I'm pushing and making sure it happens.

Your continued support means the world to me and helps progress these apps to help progress your experience with your HarmonyOS devices. HKeyboard is under heavy development right now and is feeling great, but needs a lot of refinements in the visual department and settings all wired up, this takes a lot of time.

Show your support here: https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard and put a smile on my face!

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Case

Hey all, just found a case for my 80 Pro Max in the UK on Amazon £3.99!

Bought it yesterday and fitted last night. Gotta say, I'm a fussy prick, but it's a nice case, I'm not affiliated with these, although I should be, but the case feels good, the stand that goes on the back is terrible and pointless, unless i put it on the wrong part of the case, but the phone is covered, camera is protected without a protection over the lenses (camera quality not reduced).

HarmoniKeyboard V2.1.15 Underway

After a few bug reports and languages to be added, I have managed to complete the bugs and languages and Japanese Flick input to tap input too.

I am currently just modifying the immersive effects, then will optimize the keyboard to work smoother on older devices.

u/South-Professor-8888 — 6 days ago

Animation is fun!

Gotta say, this is ny favourite addition to HarmoniKeyboard and this colour for the immersion is perfect.

What's yours?

HarmonyOS 6 Global?

I'm a little confused. My Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ is using a Global Account, running HarmonyOS 4.3. No chinese account linked to it. Yet, I have this update for it?

You normally have to have a Chinese account to update, correct me if I'm wrong?

HProductions Future & Thank you!

Hi everyone, Rhys here from GB Tech Reviews | HProductions.

I write all my posts myself to keep things as genuine as possible.

Lately, I've had a few donations coming in which I feel absolutely blessed for. I actually went this month without missing all of my bills. Which is insane!

It helps motivate me to carry on with what I'm doing and knowing I'm actually doing something right, I'm a lone wolf, no friends or anything like that. I have my wife and 3 kids, after going onto disability, she and they have been a godsend which kept me alive for the passed couple of years and it's amazing.

Now, doing this and having so much positive feedback and issues for me to resolve, it has helped even more with my confidence. This is specifically HarmoniKeyboard related, seems to be the most used app I have, which I'm surprised to be honest that HCloud isn't being used as much.

My plan: I am currently waiting for a new update for HCloud and HarmoniKeyboard to be approved, I have a couple of other projects I am building but struggling with which is why they are taking so long to hit the AppGallery. HEditor is looking great, but because I have a Premium Version of it inside, I have to wait some time to get approved for payments, this will be the first time I have built something that people can buy, if this kicks off and works and people actually pay for something I use, that would be insane! I was a car detailer 2 years ago, but due to physical and mental health issues, I had to stop and close shop and it was starting to go really well, but that's just given me the push to do something I actually seem to be doing right now.

As I write this, I am waiting for my new app HCalculator to finish it's build on my phone so I can go through a few more things on there, it's going to be a professional calculator. This will be aimed at everyone that uses calculators. It has a lot of features in there, organized in the best possible way that I can think of, Calculator, Notebook, Graph, Conversion tool too. One of the best features so far is something I have always wanted to build and it's a "Natural" calculator. So typing inside it "split my £198.78 bill into 3" or "25% tip on a £450 bill", it is reacting well with this, I need to add a lot of different phrases as if it was me typing I would be typing "how much is this bill?!?!?!?!" 😂

Anyway, I feel like I may have made some friends on here and especially on Telegram, the one guy that's really helped me get to where I am right now helped me start first, if he didn't guide me through the process, I wouldn't have any of these apps on the AppGallery. His name is Sajjad. He's a great guy!

I will continue to upload to TikTok and try to get more videos out about HarmonyOS and Huawei in general, I aim to sell a few things to buy the Mate 90 Pro Max when it's released, it's not very likely I would get the funds, but I will find a way.

HarmoniKeyboard V2.1.14 Coming in hot!

Another big HKeyboard update is here for HarmonyOS NEXT and HarmonyOS 6.

This update focuses heavily on personalisation, text control and language support.

If you like the work I'm doing as a Solo-Dev feel free to check out my Ko-Fi page and help me progress further in making HarmonyOS Global Friendly! https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard

Custom Photo Backgrounds

You can now use any photo as your keyboard background.

• Crop your photo directly in HKeyboard
• Adjust the background dim level live
• Preview your photo across different themes
• Keyboard accent colours automatically match colours from your photo

New Features

Spacebar Text Selection: Hold and drag the spacebar to move the cursor, then switch into text selection for longer passages.

Word Touch-Up: Place the cursor inside an existing word and replacement suggestions appear directly in the suggestion bar.

Khmer Keyboard: Full Khmer support using the NIDA layout, Khmer digits and additional long press characters.

Japanese Flick Input: A new 12-key Japanese kana layout with flick input for faster, more natural Japanese typing.

BlackBerry Inspired Theme: A new dark metallic keyboard design with pale keys and silver detailing.

Wider Spacebar: Hide the comma, full stop, or both to create a much larger spacebar.

Number Row Shortcuts: Choose whether long pressing the number row shows emoji, symbols, numbers, or nothing.

Improvements

• Swipe typing now works properly from the very first swipe
• Improved readability over bright photo backgrounds
• Improved foldable and display size support
• Fixed clipboard deletion and refresh issues
• Improved custom background reliability
• Caps Lock now follows your photo accent colour
• Various keyboard layout and visual fixes

Known Limitations

Text selection currently has some limitations inside Android container apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Messenger.

Performance optimisation for Mate 60 series devices is also still ongoing.

There is still plenty more planned for HKeyboard, so feedback is massively appreciated. If you find a bug, have a language request, or think something could work better, let me know.

I finally managed to get background

So after a couple of months trying get the custom background feature to work, I finally have it working.

It is a long way round to getting it on your keyboard but it's worth it if you like your own backgrounds.

So, the next job I now have is making sure when I publish it, Huawei don't reject it. 🤔 So wish me luck with that one.

HarmoniKeyboard FINALLY DID IT!!!

This might seem small to you, but I tell you what, after almost 3 months of developing this keyboard and a load of patience, I finally got the keyboard to read the text input field. So on the next update, when you type a sentence, you click back on a word, it updates the suggestion bar so you can actually correct these bloody words!!!!

This has been the biggest flaw for me using my own keyboard and now it's finally fixed!

How can I get Google Photos/Videos/Files to my PC?

Easy, HCloud will have a new feature, connect to your Google account that you want to transfer your files, photos or videos from, open HCloud, Select what you want to move over to your device and hit "Backup" You can either copy everything over, or move everything over.

Speeds will vary to your connection and/or Googles servers.

This is a feature I will be using, I really struggle getting all my files from Google so I can close my account, now this is how I will do it for testing, I will transfer over 10,000 files over to my PC.

This update is under development, I will test it, I'm excited to see how it goes and to share it with you all!

Remember, if you like what I'm doping for the Global Huawei community that want HarmonyOS to be more usable, click https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard this link and show your appreciation. This app will be game changing for cloud/backup services. I have big plans.

HCloud just got a NAS feature, and I think it's a game changer

I've been putting serious hours into HCloud and HarmoniKeyboard lately, trying to keep up with everything you've all been asking for. But I wanted to stop and share one update, because this one's big.

Someone asked whether HCloud could support NAS. I'll be honest, I didn't even know what NAS was at the time. So I went and researched it, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed for myself, and something I reckon a lot of you will want too.

So what is NAS? NAS stands for Network Attached Storage. In plain terms, it's your own personal storage drive that lives on your home network, rather than sitting in someone else's data centre. Think of it as your private cloud: your files, photos and backups stored on a device in your own home, that you can reach from your phone or any other device on the network. No monthly fees to a big provider, no handing your data over to anyone else. It's yours, on your terms.

I've put together a video showing you what it looks like, how it works, and just how fast it can be (internet connection depending, obviously). If you want to learn how to setup NAS on your PC, send me a message and I can help you out.

Have a watch and let me know what you think. More coming soon.

What's a feature you want from...

A backup app?

HCloud (with the new update coming) will backup photos, videos and videos. Now it will backup your photos and videos automatically.

What's missing for you?

What feature would you pay for?

Appreciate any feedback.
