How to help my cat with a non union fracture. (Urgent)
Hi! I recently went to the vet and discovered that my cat has had a non union fracture in his front right leg. My vet recommended amputation but I was completely shocked by that suggestion. 1. My cat has asthma, hip dysplasia and arthritis already at 7 years old. I am very worried that a surgery like that would affect his quality of life or deteriorate his health further. I have asked if euthanasia would be a more appropriate option and they suggested he would be a good candidate. My vet said if they were me they would book the amputation asap. I would prefer to try medication before, but they did not provide me any valid options. The only being NSAIDs but it is not able to be used with my cats asthma steroids. If anyone knows ANY medication that could possibly help, such as SOLENSIA or ANDEQUAN please let me know. I feel so stuck at the moment!
