The Reaper Showing Up in Gale Reactor

This was a few days ago so my memory will be fuzzy. I was sneaking into the control room of the Gale Reactor, having ran through the Order side of the fighting. I can’t remember if I was sneaking then got caught or I was blowing through, but basically I was fighting a Chieftan plus some grunts, no big deal. I like to use mobility, so I had the gravity cube plus jump pack. After landing on the ground floor, I heard a strange yet familiar noise. The goons with guns had been chasing me all over the place but now they were shooting at a black figure when I realized was the Reaper to which I said aloud “the fuk are you doing here?!”

In hindsight, could have banished them with my laser pistol, but I was so surprised my instinct was to get out of there so I did while the goons and Reaper went at it. Needless to say the Realer was killing them. I don’t know what became of it beyond that

So how did this happen? Beyond the weather event, I am completely unaware of any time the Reaper shows up outside of Security. Is it a scripted event I stumbled on? I also did not have the reaper weather going on

Looking to Get My First Linux Laptop and am Looking for Recommendations

Title kind of says it all. I'm currently a Windows 10 user, and my laptop is 6 years old and begging for me to put it out of its misery. So I'm looking for a new one, and I don't want any of that Windows 11 bloatware.

Figured I'd start by asking around instead of looking online. Stores will show off their hardware specs and whatnot, but I'm looking more for user experience.

I'd like minimal manufacturer software. In my current laptop, downloads get throttled to a maximum of 1.7 m/s unless I turn the Dell network optimization on, then off (don't ask me why, it took me literal years to figure out that fix). In any case, it's all a bunch of stuff I never use.

I'm currently a compsci student, but I imagine any laptop will be good for coding projects, provided I get all my software back on it.

Specs can be modest. I do play games on Steam, but I have a dedicated desktop for that. I do like to be able to use 2D and other potato-level games on my laptop when I have time to kill.

I value high amounts of storage and the tools to manage it all.

I use OneDrive for a lot of important files and storage. I am unaware if it is compatible with Linux.

Oh, and USB ports, not USB-C. Being deprived of those is horrible.

Players Needed: 4 (more can join as feedbackers but won't have a spot in the current game)

Time of Playtest: Sunday May 10th at 5PM Pacific Time and lasting about 4 hours

Platform: FoundryVTT + Discord

Hello, I am looking for playtesters who are very knowledgeable in Lancer to help me out with a Homebrew Supplement I am currently working on. The session will consist of a simple battle to get a feel to how the Licenses perform at LL3. While players are free to come up with characters should they wish, this will be a non-narrative game, focusing purely on gameplay.

I have four new licenses ready under a new manufacturer. Players will only be allowed to use GMS and one different license each, and must decide amongst themselves who gets which. Core Bonuses will be limited to GMS only. There is no restrictions on Talents, save for they must be made by Mastiff Press.

Players will not only test via the game, but examine the licenses together as a group over the week and give feedback up until the playtest itself.

Playtesters are also free to stay to give long term feedback after the game and get first pick for future playtest games.

Lastly, please bring a good attitude and spirit of cooperation! There will be weird things, unclear rules, unbalanced stuff and all manner of hiccups! Regardless of what we do and learn, I'm hoping that everyone has fun!

In order to join, PM me information about yourself and why you think you'd be a good pick as a playtester. How much experience do you have playing Lancer? Have you done game design or have made homebrew for Lancer before? It'd be great to also learn things about you as a person!

Once I decide on candidates, I will ask for your discord and then make a group chat with all members.

The Licenses:

- Odysseus [Generalist]: a true jack of all trades, and the poster child of the company, this frame has enhanced Overcharges along with the ability to reset the amount of times it Overcharged to zero. Thermite grenades, launchers and an LMG give it quite the arsenal. It endures through any challenge, just like its namesake.

- Bucephalus [Striker]: more resembling a plane with legs, the Bucephalus soars across the battlefield, with the ability to pump out more speed than any other frame in current existence. Fitted with rockets that deal extra damage to enemies flanked around cover, integrated strafing autocannons, and the ability to clear immobilized, this frame is impossible to stop. Speed is life Pilot.

- Quasimodo [Defender/Support]: Don't let its silhouette fool you. This mech features a top of the line sensor suite to ensure no enemy can get the drop on the squad. Should an enemy land a blow on a teammate, the Quasimodo uses the data from across the unit's network to home in on the target for an extremely accurate attack. It comes with the option to equip one of the largest cannons ever made for a mech to make that shot count.

- Oberon [Controller]: A hacker that likes to heat up the party. The Oberon inflicts debilitating conditions when enemies are in the Danger Zone and counts as invisible to them. Worse still, it can hinder their ability to cool off, ensuring that their heat is halved instead of cleared.
