FedEx Customer Service is Useless

I placed an order online last week for an item that cost approximately $900 after shipping. Selected the delivery option that would guarantee delivery by 7/6/26. Wasn’t expecting a severe storm/tornado to rip through my area on Sunday 7/5/26.

Luckily I have power while 30,000 others do not. But I don’t have internet and i use ring cameras as well as a ring doorbell. I was home all day today and because I don’t have internet, when FedEx arrived at my house and rang the doorbell, I never got the notification and it never rang through my house.

45 minutes after the delivery attempt, I received a text message and went to the front door to discover a door tag that an attempt was made and a signature is required for delivery and my item cannot be redirected to a local fedex office for pickup.

I called customer service and the young lady said she will put in a request for the driver to attempt another delivery before 4pm today. 4pm came and gone and the driver never came. I called customer service again and they assured me by 5pm the driver would attempt again. 5pm came and gone no delivery.

I called customer service a third time and explained to them that today was the only day I had off to be home to accept delivery and pleaded with them to help me to no avail. I even contacted the shipper and asked them for help and they couldn’t. I called FedEx a 4th time and the customer service rep got under my skin and I lost it. I was nice 3 times and on the 4th time my emotions got the better of me.

So now FedEx will make 2 more attempts knowing full well I will not be home and after 3 failed attempts will return my $900 item. Luckily I’ll be refunded by the merchant but it’s very frustrating that FedEx is holding a $900 item hostage and won’t help me out. I’m single and live alone. I don’t talk to my neighbors much let alone trust them to sign for such an expensive purchase.

Ohio specific Question

Are there any OHIO hospital police officers on this subreddit? Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital, Ohio Health, etc. that can clarify this for me:

Per Section 109.71 | Ohio peace officer training commission created - definitions.

(A) "Peace officer" means:

(9) A police officer who is employed by a hospital that employs and maintains its own proprietary police department or security department, and who is appointed and commissioned by the Secretary of State.

So using that referenced ORC section above, assaulting a peace officer, in this case a hospital police officer, would fall under Assault, Felony 4.

A buddy of mine works for an Ohio hospital PD (not mentioned above) and they are only allowed to charge for M-1 assault. Is this common practice or a county/city prosecutor preference.

Holster Attachment Durability

I’m in my 10th year in LE and currently run a Safariland 6360 level 3 holster directly mounted to a 6004-25 drop leg platform. In years past, I ran the QLS system but dropped it after seeing videos of the QLS system fail.

I recently started running Blade Tech Tek Mounts for some of my gear and was looking into adopting the Tek Mount system for my duty rig but I decided to buy the Valor Duty Drop to run on my training/range belt to see how it holds up. I saw the Blade Tech “torture test” video on YouTube where the Tek-Mount beat the QLS on vertical and horizontal pull.

What do you run? What successes and failures have you run into with your current set up?
