[UPD] PHILO, MATH, ARTS & PE - THOUGHTS ABOUT THESE PROFS?

[UPD] PHILO, MATH, ARTS & PE - THOUGHTS ABOUT THESE PROFS?

I badly need brutally honest thoughts about these profs in terms of:

  1. Teaching Style - Unoable?

  2. Workloads

  3. How they treat their students overall?

Additional: Do they give time to transfer from one building to another?

[UPD] BA European Language tips & GC?

BA EL Freshie here! 🌻Help a freshman out po seniors 🙏 Just asking specific tips for this course habang may time pa po ako to prepare.

  1. What are the things that should I invest on?

\- Should I start learning the major language that I chose? If so can you recommend learning materials or sources that I can check? (French)

\- Any lifesaver things that I need to buy (in general and specifically for this course).

  1. What are the things that I should look forward to?

\- What orgs should I join? My interests are mostly around social works, volunteering, environment, language, and media information.

Also finding my co-BA EL freshies here!

Help the freshman out! Pre-enlistment - BA EL

Hello Seniors, as an incoming Iska, I really need your thoughts about the Pre-enlistment and how can I make use of the Freshman priority.

  1. In terms of schedule, do you think this is manageable for someone who's 2hrs away from UPD?

> In addition to this, do you think I can manage the compact sched? Like do you think I'll have time to transfer from one class to another and can handle the workloads within those subjects?

  1. Thoughts about the profs? I've only read some reviews of the profs here in reddit and I need my ates and kuyas to be brutally honest with me about this.

  2. What if I didn't get in to my desired course? I know 'di pa naman end of the world but how can I manage to get into that course or at least avoid getting underload?

Also, yung PE 1 po huhu paano po makakakuha ng pe 1 😭

UPD or Philsca/NAAP

>>>End Goal: Commercial Pilot

As you may know, being a pilot requires a lot of not only hard work but also a serious amount of money. I've already accepted the fact that pursuing aviation is a long course and even so, I still want to pursue this profession.

>>>Current dilemma:

  1. I passed University of the Philippines - Diliman under BA European Language. Just like many, UPD is my dream school and European Language was one of my interests back then. ALSO being in UP, how woke ppl are and how interesting it is to be surrounded with scholars who are much smarter than me is more relieving than overwhelming for me cuz I know I will learn a lot.

• Pros: The prestige of the school in the professional field, quality of education in UP + long history of educational background, course is still in the scope of my interest.

• Cons: I hoped to enroll in Mechanical or Electrical engg since I think that will put me in a better position in the professional field. In addition, I'm a STEM student (attended sci high school since jhs) so my skill set is mostly on the BS courses. I have background on journalism since elem and tbh journalism is my passion but I don't think I have honed that through the years. I'm not sure as well if there are several job opportunities for BAEL after graduating.

  1. I passed Philsca or National Aviation Academy of the Philippines under BS Aeronautical Engineering. This is aviation related course in the school, and somehow, I feel comforted being surrounded with aircraft and engines within the school (+ school unif AAAAAA GRABE)

Pros: Aeronautical Engineering, as an engineering course is somehow more aligned with my skill set. This is an aviation related course.

Cons: I'm afraid of the retention policy. I've been hearing a lot about how the aviation field in the Philippines is difficult to get in. Even if you're aero eng, you have to establish creds even if you have to work under a totally different field before practicing your expertise and then saka pa lang mag pilot. I've been hearing quite a lot about the school too.

>>>Now reddit people, please talk to me realistically kung anong dapat kong gawin please please please.

Sa totoo lang mukhang easy choice and philsca but kagaya ng pagmamahal ko sa aviation, mahal ko rin ang UP. I'm willing to shift course pero kung malabo yung chance ko na mag change, dapat na ba talaga akong mag philsca?
