Tax on Retention Bonus still applicable if I pay the company back?

Hi friends! Can someone help me understand that if my company is paying me a retention bonus of 2lakhs, which is applicable for a clawback, so if I leave the company and pay them back the amount, will I still have to pay the tax?

Is there any measure to settle it?

On bench for 5+ months. What to do?

I work in an Indian Listed Company (been 10 months). I was hired as a Management Trainee from a Tier 1 MBA college. I have been on bench for the past 5 months and my company has not been able to find a suitable final role for me. hired got a role, I have had some gender limitations.

There was one instance where the HR was trying to pin the blame on me with blunt lies but I had everything documented so I saved myself. I am continuously following up if they have some role for me.

I am sitting idle in the office, staring at the screen blankly. I am frustrated and hopeless. I don't know if they are going to fire me. I am looking for jobs but I am a fresher and the job market is tough, I don't know if I should resign.
