Is root clipping worth it?

I’ve never tried it before and I’m wondering if it’s worth buying some clips so I can try it. My hair is fine, slightly thin, and so far I can get it to have a little wave at the roots but not much volume.

If you’ve tried it, do you like it? Any tips? Do you prefer the claw style clips or the duckbill kind?

I currently have some teeny tiny claw clips and some bigger ones but I don’t think either would work well for root clipping so I do t see a way to test it without buying anything.

Nape texture is always different from the rest of my hair

When I comb my hair after towel drying it dries mostly straight, except the nape will be wavy.

I had thought this was either because my nape hair is actually wavier than the rest of my hair, and/or because it dries the slowest so it retains the most texture.

However, recently I've been trying a wavy styling routine and getting good waves throughout the rest of my hair, but now the nape is straighter than the rest! Can anyone explain why that would happen?

What about Monday, Monday’s nice, I live with my grandma and I eat fried rice

Anybody remember this? I believe it was from an interstitial segment that played on Nickelodeon in the mid/late 90s. It’s sung by a bunch of girls chanting in the way you do for hand clap games and I think the video was probably girls in a school yard jump roping, doing hopscotch, or something like that.

I don’t remember all the lyrics and I’m sure some of what I remember is wrong but here’s my best attempt:

What about Monday, Monday’s nice

I live with my grandma and I eat fried rice

Tuesday just before going to bed

I play the xylophone while standing on my head

Wednesday just to make a stance

I put on my pajamas and I do a funky dance

Thursday, Thursday, right by me

I mow the backyard till a quarter til three

Friday ?????

??????????????

Saturday, Sunday, the last two left

????? in a polka dotted dress

I’ve tried many times to find a video or the full lyrics with no success so any help would be much appreciated!

ICL in mid/late 30s

I’m 36 and considering ICL. I brought it up at my last eye exam and the doctor said I only have about 4-5 years left before I’ll start losing close-up vision if I get it done. (She didn’t say it in a discouraging way, just setting expectations, and did help me set up a consultation.)

I’m extremely nearsighted, and I feel like going from needing thick glasses for everything including near vision as I do now, to needing thin glasses only for near work, is still a clear win, but I’m curious how others in the same situation felt. If you’ve started losing your close-up vision, how was the adjustment to needing reading glasses? How satisfied are you with your surgery?

The doctor also mentioned monovision as an option, which I will consider—if you opted for that, how happy are you with it?

I wish they’d make a coffee table book of all the AG magazine paper dolls!

I got my Making Of book yesterday and flipping through it reminded me how much I used to love those paper dolls. I’d love to be able to buy a coffee table book of all of them. I can see it being a rights nightmare, assuming the girls featured only gave their permission to be in the magazine and they’d have to get permission again to use them in a book. But I’d love to see them all again in one book!

They’re little claw clips that come in a set of two and attach with magnets so you can do half-up styles. I’m curious how well they work for fine hair, especially straight & slippery fine hair!
