Hello all,

We’ve had a few users want to advertise websites on the sub recently. These are not affiliated with the sub or the moderation team in any capacity.

At a very high level, they may provide value to users, but we want to keep our community safe. It’s obvious that AI was used in the development of these websites, which is a concern for us. Also, we don’t know how user data is stored, used, or potentially sold.

I’d like input from the community about the type of content we allow. Retail websites, such as Evike, Proact, Redwolf, WGC, are not included in this decision.

Hello everyone,

I'd like to start off with saying that I'm glad to see people returning to the sub after the period of time with no moderation team and users not being able to post.

My goal with taking over the sub was to bring back order. Previously, the sub was like the wild west- very little to no moderation. The same discussion posts were being made multiple times per day, and users would provide the same answers. I can't speak for others, but I want to see what builds people come up with, not the same questions being asked constantly.

I started the Importing GBBRs and monthly Purchase Advice megathreads to help cut down on the amount of repeat posts, and provide a centralized space for those who are asking the questions. I thought moderating this sub more similar to places like r/3Dprinting would be a good idea. The importing megathread is doing okay, with the occasional regular post being made. The purchase advice megathread is not doing well at all. That's a failure on my part, and I thought it being pinned would have been enough. Two users have already messaged me asking why they should post in the Purchase Advice thread since it's not being used.

I'd like to ask your opinions on how the sub should be moderated, since this space only survives because of the users:

Should I keep trying to direct people to use these megathreads?

Do you use the megathreads? If not, why?

Should I keep or get rid of the megathreads?

If you were able to sit down with the owner of the main manufactures and could influence their next few releases, what replicas would they be?

This is not a place to discuss politics

Before the sub was restricted, a lot of people were posting questions about or their experiences with importing “realistic” GBBRs into the US. In order to keep the sub organized and not filled with the same posts, please keep discussions about the topic to this thread.

As a lot of you may already know, most users are unable to create posts at the moment. I'm not 100% sure of the reason, but it's likely due to the sub being in limbo. Currently, the sub has no moderation team. I'm completely in the dark just as you as to what happened. I currently have a r/RedditRequest post open in order to take over the sub so this community isn't deleted.
