Was season 3 originally meant to have a different cast and use mocap technology?

Hi, this is my first post on this subreddit. I started playing all the Walking Dead games recently after coming off of Dispatch, and learning some interesting dev history about the games.

I know season 3 doesn’t really have a stellar reputation among the fanbase but today I came across a 7 year-old post that showed a BTS photo from presumably season 3. However I don't remember seeing Erin Yvette (voice of Molly and Bonnie from the first two seasons) as part of the cast from season 3, but she is in this BTS photo.

Did Telltale actually cut out or changed a lot of the story from season 3?

AdHoc is also celebrating Blazer's birthday 🎂🥳

Shout out to all the respective artists for their beautiful art! I've seen some of them sharing these over here as well.

Didn’t quite expect devs to acknowledge this btw 😅. I confused it with Erin's birthday at first lol. Thanks again to all the artists for their work. ❤️

One track from the OST sounds kinda like GTA 5 music

The track in question is "Dossier Be Like", which plays in ep 2 when Robert is checking out the Z-Team's resumes with Blazer and Chase. Parts of the track are really similar to the track "No Happy Endings" from GTA 5. I think that music plays in the mission "Bury the Hatchet".

I think it's really cool that both Dispatch and GTA 5 were inspired by the '80s synth-pop music for their soundtracks.

Does this response make any sense?

What does calling someone got do with anything with turning on the Mech suit? I get calling Blazer or the team would be interrupted by the jammers, but isn’t the suit inside the building?

Is this the same kind of continuity error like in ep 6 if you hide your Mechaman identity?

Found Mr. Whiskey in Disclosure Day...

Was watching the new Spielberg movie Disclosure Day and saw the little HR guy pop up. 😅

Notice how Visi keeps on staring at Robert without blinking while he brings out the Sour Patch Kids bag 🥰

Taken from a fanedit. Currently don't have the footage so I guess this will have to work...

I don't think Dispatch 2 will be getting a physical release at this state... 😥

Sorry for this doomer post and I know it has nothing to do with Dispatch itself, but I think this still warrants some thinking about the series' future.

Sony just announced that after January 2028, they will no longer publish physical discs of video games, for both third and first-party games. Afaik they were the last major console publisher still putting out full game discs after Xbox noped out, even if they needed a download anyway.

Judging by speculations about Dispatch 2, I don't think it's coming out by 2028, before Sony's digital-only policy fully rolls out. That means Dispatch 2 might not get a physical release at all, unless AdHoc chooses to put it on the Switch like the first game. Nintendo still publishes game keycards for first and third party games.

However considering how the Switch release of the first game went, I don't think the only available physical version of Dispatch 2, which might be the Switch cartridge, will be fully representative of the actual version of the game if the censorship drama happens again for Dispatch 2.

Not just for Dispatch 2, I think this is a shitty moment for video games in general. Sony has proven a couple days ago that nothing digital warrants full ownership by delisting 500 movies from everyone's PS library, and who's to say they won't do this for video games as well?

Visi's shy side-eye to Robert was based on Erin's face ❤️

Taken from the deluxe edition artwork. Apparently devs used live-action footage as reference for some scenes in the game, and Erin was used as the reference for the ep 4 movie date scene of Visi.

The fact that she not only originally voiced Visi, but also modeled as her just makes me think how much the devs and VAs actually cared about all these beautiful characters. 🥰

Visi's cute side-stare at Robert was actually based on a photo of Erin 🥰

I was sifting through the deluxe edition artbook and found this at the very last page.

Apparently devs filmed live action scenes as references for some of the shots in the game, and Visi looking at Robert in the movie date was actually based on this photo of Erin's.

Damn, Mandy ain't messing around 😂

Isn’t this supposed to be an actual HR violation? 😂 I know she's a bit tipsy and all, but this was straight up a threat lol.

What do you think Visi has in her hard drives?

If you romance Visi, she tells Robert to clean up her hard drives during the ep 8 final dispatch segment. What are ya'lls headcanons what she might have in them?

Why is Sea Salt calling SDN for? Can't he send [TITLE CARD] for the job?

Or maybe he the Guardians are stuck fighting the Flaxans to get Robot and Monster Girl out? These multi-dimensional calls must cost a lot.

Not a huge fan of the new update... but DAMN, Charlie 🤣

Not edited btw, taken straight from the game with the new Chaotic censorship enabled. 🤣 Though this straight up breaks immersion...

Hope he sees this lmao, this was pure cinema. 🔥

How many studios in total are actually working on TWAU 2?

Back in March it was first reported that the Argentinian studio Trick Studios (or Games) was working on the game from 2025, and now we're hearing Telltale is apparently working with them too.

And the newest update is that even Deck Nine from the Life is Strange games is also working on this? And the game is being co-published with PM Studios alongside Telltale?

I don't know, but this kinda reads like a "Too many cooks spoil the dish" situation to me. IMO Telltale should've used one studio to work on the game because now the whole developer lineup kinda feels crowded, which makes me worried about the game's quality.

Hot take: the singular release of the sequel will do more harm than good

According to the new director of the game, the sequel is now pretty much confirmed to release as a complete title instead of following a periodical release like The Expanse.

But here's why I think it won't be beneficial for the game in the long run: this will kill fan discussion and conversation almost immediately in this community. If theories are to go by, Wolf 2 will have more detective puzzles for the player. If the episodes dropped at least weekly, this would keep fan theories alive about the outcomes of these puzzles for the whole week, like a whodunit mystery.

A singular release will mean players will completely avoid this community from being spoiled, and the game's hype will die out pretty fast.

The Dispatch community benefited from the weekly release of the episodes, which the devs emphasized mostly on to increase fan interaction during development. This created a lively environment in that community which still exists to this day.

I know some people are impatient for Wolf 2, as this game has been in dev hell for so many years, but I don't think waiting at least a week or two would've hurt them more.

Xbox release: potential delay incoming?

Forgive me for being a bit of a doomer here... but a lack of update regarding the Xbox port has kinda got me concerned about a delay.

Back in March in the Xbox partner preview AdHoc announced a "Summer 2026" release for the platform and since then they provided no updates so far. They didn’t even show at the Xbox Showcase a couple days ago, which I believe would've been perfect for an announcement.

Now as far as I've learnt from this subreddit and other news outlets is that the Switch port was censored by the devs for which they blamed Nintendo's policies for. However that claim was proven wrong when people found the Japan-only PS5 version to have the same censorship, which can only point at Japan's censorship laws for that situation.

Don't know if Japan has a market for Xbox, but AdHoc would still have to make a separate censored SKU for that market as well, just as they did for the PS5 port.

Could AdHoc be delaying the Xbox release to avoid a similar situation? If so, wouldn’t that hurt the overall sales on that platform, given how late the game is releasing there?

Never turn the music off when you kiss Mandy on her date... 😬

Something tells me that sound was recorded for... other reasons. You can't even hear it over the music otherwise. Maybe a surprise easter egg? 🙃

We NEED a tango scene with Robert and Mandy like this in the season 2 pilot...

From the new pilot of Legend of Vox Machina season 4.

Please, devs. Make it happen! That'd be pure cinema. ❤️
