MDSO signed a contract with Flock back in May. From what I understand, this was expedited due to the World Cup. Contract called for 48 cameras, which I suspect are already in operation, but there's WAY more than that coming. There's has to be another contract or work order that they have yet to send me. This is the exit from a highway. There is a school zone once you exit. Drivers exiting here are presented with ONE school zone sign on the far right shoulder. Drivers in the left 2 lanes may not see it. Once at the intersection, which is over 200ft away, there is no additional signage. Drivers then turn right into the middle of the school zone. Once they turn there is zero school zone signage until they get to the end of the school zone, which is a further 600ft down the road. Seems like there should be at least a single school zone sign in the median and then perhaps 2 more at the intersection?
I heard that the speed camera installation in front of West Miami Middle School may not have proper signage. So I did some digging. There's 2 cameras installed in the median on SW 24th St near the 826 interchange. One faces east and between January and March of this year issued 153 citations. During the same time period, the westbound camera issued over 3,300 citations! This difference was quite alarming and usually points to some kind of problem. Since I do not live in the area, I did some sleuthing on Streetview and Apple Maps. Based on what I've seen, there's no school zone signage for traffic exiting NB 826 onto WB SW 24th St, save for a single "speed limit photo enforced" sign that does NOT mention that there's a school zone ahead nor at what time it's active. The sheer number of cars exiting the 826 and almost immediately driving past a speed camera in an unmarked school zone explains why so many violations were issued here. The camera in question is the red dot in the attached map screenshot.
Has anyone on here received a citation at this school zone? Did you contest the ticket or reach out to anyone at MDSO or the county?

Flock recently filed a bunch of permit applications for locations across unincorporated Miami-Dade county. Looks like they'll start installing cameras at these locations soon! Some municipalities (Doral, Pinecrest, Coral Gables) have been using them for a few years now, so this isn't exactly surprising. Neither MDSO nor the county have made any sort of announcement about this. Thoughts?
