Repaired sweatpants!!

Decided to have some fun with the embroidery on these. There were tiny holes in the fabric at the thighs for some reason, so I decided to patch them up before they grew any bigger!!

Hoodie cuff hearts for BF and me ♥️

My boyfriend's red hoodie was in rough shape, so I offered to darn it for him!! I decided to have some fun and hid a cute little heart in the stitching. Then I made some on my cuff to match as well ♥️♥️♥️ This was surprisingly easy and fun!!

Crotch repair! (Almost) invisible on the outside, visible on the inside

The crotch on these pants was sloooowly wearing away at the seam, so I decided to patch it up before it got worse! I used a scrap from an old sock, because the dark stripe was the best color match I had + the fabric was very soft. I can't even feel it while wearing them!

The damage is placed right between the legs so it's impossible to see in most situations. I think I did a pretty alright job and the repair's held up for months now! Yay!

Patched my tent after a robot lawnmower attack!

The last image is an Instagram screencap from a year ago. I was staying at a camping lodge when a rogue lawnmower robot started nibbling at my tent!! It wasn't anything major, so I just forgot about it for a while.

Now that I'm going camping again, I took the time to repair the tent!! It's not particularly pretty, but it does its job well!

The way kids drew fanart of indie horror media in the mid-late 2010's

This was a surprisingly prevalent phenomenon. Examples included here are FNAF, Baldi's Basics, Cuphead and BATIM (specifically when crossed over, as Cuphead hadn't even released when a lot of this fanart was made), Slendytubbies and the Creepypasta genre.

I remember being one of these kids back in like 2018 and I have a theory for why me and many others gravitated torwards this style:

These fanarts share a lot of overlapping themes with animation memes and comic dubs of the time, themes that resonate with a pubescent audience. ie. Angst, drama, cool edgy characters, romance and an element of mystery/ incompleteness. These indie horror properties are bloody and dark, but rarely include any actual viscerally upsetting content or deeper commentary. They are also very accessible, as most of them are available online for free (often through Youtube letsplays etc.)

I believe that this kind of fanart was a way for kids like me to explore the aforementioned themes in a way that felt radical and dark without actually scaring us. You can even see kids of today engaging in the same behavior ie. in the Smiling Critters and Dandy's World fandoms. The children yearn for safe scares and there's something really charming about that to me.

*(*DISCLAIMER: Much like with all internet communities, sometimes these fandoms would go too far. There have been many cases of kids drawing NSFW imagery of these characters and posting them online. However, this is not a concern exclusive to these fandoms, but rather a children's online safety problem that due to poor moderation and parental supervision is sadly bound to happen sometimes. Thus I don't think these entire communities should be painted in a bad light because of these instances. Thank you.)

How our MC looks in the cover art vs in game :-D (both images by me)

This is for a gamejam-esque project I'm doing at a Gamedev club. It's a very silly VN about going on a date with PeeBee, a jolly demigod. He loves lady Gaga and ice cream.

Soonhill - Valmiina saalistamaan, aka "Ready to hunt," from 2004

This fascinating find stuck out like a sore thumb in the Levykauppa ÄX second hand bin. It was in good relatively condition, although oddly... wet looking (the paper on the cover is warped and wavy).

This album is clearly a small project of some kind, perhaps a group of students or friends just making something for fun. It's fancy enough to have glossy printed inserts and printing on the disc itself, but the images are compressed and blurry enough to show that it's by no means a big production. Not to mention the font of the text...

The songs themselves have a charming amateurish sound. The microphone is a bit stuffy, the singing is just alright and the lyrics are rather silly. It is clearly a product of its time.

Besides a page on the music distribution site mikseri.fi where you can listen to the songs, there is practically zero information about its creators or the Rasputin themed "Grigori Star" recording studio. I highly doubt the phone number works either.
