The rage baiting is increasingly out of control

Obviously not everything is for everyone, and I'm not saying that everyone absolutely has to like this game. But the number of people who post on here (and other sites) seemingly hating on the game just for the sake of rage bating, or because I guess it's "cool" to be a contrarian, is ridiculous. Can they seriously think of nothing better to do with their lives?

Steve warned us

Reminded of GN's numerous recent videos about how ownership is going away, when I had to read about how "physical copies" of GTA 6 are just going to be cases with a download code inside, instead of actual disks. It's fine. It's great. I love the "you'll own nothing, and you'll like it" hellscape we've all been sucked into.

ABS is critically flawed ("call stands")

Having ABS in the game is important, as far as having the gameplay reflect the actual MLB rules...but the implementation needs serious work. It's obvious there are times when the current coding of the game doesn't know what to do with a player challenging a call, so it just defaults to "call stands" and takes a challenge away. I keep hoping this will be resolved in a patch, but I'm not holding my breath.

NVIDIA is trying even harder to force the app on us

Updated my drivers today, and noticed that they removed (or at least made less prominent) the option to install the driver without also installing the Nvidia app. I hate that app passionately, because it causes a noticeable reduction in performance (at least in Hitman, which is one of my favorite games). I just used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of the app after installing the driver, so it's not a huge deal, but giving us less choice as far as what software does and doesn't go on our systems is a bad thing, and companies should be called out for it.

The worst TacSim challenge

I'm trying to wrap up the last couple TacSim challenges, and then I'll have done literally everything that's in the game so far. Hands down the worst TacSim challenge is "takedown marathon." The way that mission has multiple brutes spawn right at the exit after you pick up the last note just feels so cheap. If I've maintained stealth, and haven't alerted anyone, why are they adding enemies?

let's stop kidding ourselves.

Even without a "license to kill" it's pretty obvious that a lot of what Bond does is at least potentially lethal. Like, I just repeatedly smashed a guy's head into a very hard surface. That'll at the very least cause significant brain damage, and could well be fatal. It's like some "non lethal" attacks in Spider-Man games. Bro, you just kicked a guy off a sky scraper. There's no coming back from that. (I know some people justify this by saying they all get webbed before they hit the ground, I personally don't buy it)

I'm blown away (so far)

Obviously I'm only a few hours in, but I love what I've seen so far, and IO deserves a ton of credit. It's just so refreshing to see a developer release a game that isn't a half baked pile of garbage, and that doesn't need a year's worth of patches and updates before it becomes playable. It's just such a nice change, and an industry with a pretty poor recent track record.

Huge respect for the devs

I just reached the end of the story in early access, and feel like the team that put this game together should be commended. This game (even in early access) was better and more polished than most new games that I've played recently as full releases. In an industry where it's become all too common for developers to rush out half baked piles of garbage, it's nice to, for once, play a new game that actually feels like it's worth my time and money, and that feels like the developers actually have some pride in what they're doing (I'm not talking about the corporate people who did their best to screw people over, and screw everything up). I can't wait to see where this game goes in the next few years.

Unstable chipset drivers

I have a 7950X3D on an ASUS X670E-E motherboard, and up until yesterday it'd been pretty stable with a -17 all core offset. Then I updated my chipset drivers. (8.02.18.557, which released in March). Since the update yesterday, the system has crashed 3 times. I dialed back the offset to -14, but it crashed again. So I'm left thinking that this particular driver package is just bad. I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with it? Thanks. (asking here because nobody on the AMD subreddits said anything useful.)

System suddenly less stable

I have a 7950X3D running on an ASUS X670E-E motherboard. I've been running it with a -17 all core voltage offset for the last few months with minimal issues. I recently updated the chipset drivers to the newest version for my motherboard, and now the system has crashed twice in one day. I dialed the offset back to -14, in the hope that the system regains stability, I'm now in the process of running stability tests to see if this is a sufficient fix, but I was just curious if changes to the chipset driver are known to cause instability like I've been seeing?

I'm afraid of the answer to this question, but.....

I've put hundreds of hours into the World of Assassination trilogy, and thus 007 First Light probably my most anticipated game since Hitman 3 in 2021. That having been said, I'm afraid to ask this question: I haven't heard/seen it talked/written about, but do we know if this game will fall victim to the same idiocy that is requiring an online connection to maintain progression, even though it's a single player game? I love the WOA trilogy, and that decision is such a baffling choice in an otherwise nearly perfect set of games. I'm hoping that IOI might've learned something from the years of negative sentiment among players, but I haven't heard anything one way or the other.
