Learning basic air dribbles, and really struggling with doing so off the left wall

I can do basic air dribbles quite consistently when coming off the right wall, but when coming off the left wall I just can’t seem to get it down. I have no idea whether this is because I am right handed or not, or just a simple preference that my brain has latched on to. I swear I am doing everything exactly the same as when doing an air dribble from the right wall but somehow I just can’t manage it😂 any tips?

I peaked last night

Been practicing DAR for about 10 minutes a day, not been following any instructional videos, just brute forcing it and trying to get a “feel” for it. Managed to pull this off in a game yesterday and couldn’t believe it, not even sure how I did it, it’s like I just kind of knew what to do.

My aerial progress from Plat 2 to Diamond 2

Not as flashy as some clips, but I am proud of my aerial progress, chorus picks up when I feel I started to become better at aerial shots, then picks up again at the point I feel I become competent at them.

Is tapping break necessary on air dribble setups?

I’m not referring to tapping break just before you follow the ball up the wall, but rather tapping break just before you jump off the wall to follow the ball. I seem to be able to do it without tapping break but almost all tutorials advise tapping break. Is this something I should learn as well? Or should I just continue doing what I’ve been doing all along?

Did anyone here ever play the original skate games? A mode similar to S.K.A.T.E, could be fun in RL

I think a fun new game mode could be similar to the game S.K.A.T.E. In this game, one skater does a trick, such as a kickflip, and then the other players have to copy that trick. If they bail out and fail to land the trick, then they will get the letter S, if they fail another trick, they will get the letter K, and so on until S.K.A.T.E is spelt out at which point they are out. The person who sets the trick, continues to set the trick until they also bail out. For example, they first set the kickflip, then they do an Ollie, then they attempt a 360 flip but fail, the next person in line would then be the one to set the trick.

I think something similar could be very fun in rocket league, someone sets a trick, such as a musty flick, then the other players have to copy it. Maybe it could be to spell out the word R.O.C.K.E.T.

I spent so much money on a PC specifically to play modded Bethesda games, just to become addicted to Rocket League

It’s kind of funny, I saved for months to be able to build myself a top of the range PC with a 5080/7800X3D, solely for the purpose of playing ultra modded Bethesda games and Witcher/Cyberpunk, to then become addicted to a game I could’ve just played on my Xbox that I already had. Damn my brother for introducing me to this magnificent game.

Why did Concerta work for me as a child but now it does not?

Earlier this year I got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult although I was previously diagnosed as a child. At first I was prescribed amfexa 5mg which definitely helped and I felt like I could function a lot easier and start and complete tasks much easier, but the rebound anxiety was too much for me. So my doctor switched me to concerta 5mg which I have been on for the past month and a half and it does absolutely nothing. I don’t know why it has no affect on me since this medication worked for me as a child.

This week my doctor has now put me back on amfexa 10mg and I feel like I have super powers, I no longer experience negative rebound affects and I can do everything I need to do. I managed to revise an entire day yesterday without feeling restless, procrastinating, or needing the TV on in the background, I was just glued to my laptop screen. Unfortunately though amfexa 10mg is giving me awful insomnia which I am hoping is a temporary affect

Do Smurfs actually think people are amazed by them?

Every-time I come up against a Smurf I am generally just astounded at how pathetic and sad some people can be. Imagine Cristiano Ronaldo going to play football with the local football team and absolutely dunking on all of them whilst telling them how bad they are, I think everyone who watches football would see him as an insecure and sad man. Yet Smurfs must not realise that this is how they are viewed by the Rocket League community otherwise they would not do it. They must genuinely believe that they are showing off and impressing those they play against.

Any ADHDrs in here who struggle to train the mundane aspects of the game?

I have ADHD so naturally I put off anything that I don’t find exciting or stimulating. I have no problem practicing shooting, aerials and saves, but when it comes to dribbles and cut ins I find this incredible tedious and boring and so I struggle to dedicate the time to train my ground game. Which isn’t great because my ground play is my weakest point currently. I can sit in a shooting or saving training pack for hours on end, but when I try to train dribbling I get bored after 10 minutes😂

This of course isn’t just a rocket league issue, I should be revising for uni exams right now but instead I’m posting in here.
