Going from FO3 to FNV

So I think I'm done playing FO3 for a little while after I finish this current playthrough. I just picked up a hard copy of FNV (Ultimate Edition Xbox 360) off eBay. I know FNV has its own Sub, but I was curious if any veteran FO3 players have any do's or don't tips for playing FNV, particularly what not to do in FNV because it worked in FO3. Or what to definitely do in FNV because it works in FO3. I guess what I'm asking is if it can be played with the same or similar playstyle as in FO3, or is there enough of a difference between the two games that new and different strategies should be adopted. Just from watching a couple of YT videos, I can tell that the weapons are very different.

Any Experience With Innodata?

I seem to get one or two project invitations each month from them; which is cool. The problem is, their emails are always urgent, such "This project starts tomorrow so take the assessment ASAP." Then the assessment and/or guidelines are inaccessible. (The assessment link is eventually fixed or they redirect you to a Google form). For the last invitation, the written guidelines were inaccessible, but a training video was accessible so I watched that and took the assessment. Apparently I passed, but they want me to take a second assessment with no guidelines for a project that starts today and presumably only lasts for 2 weeks. So I don't know what's going on with them, but they seem really disorganized. Just curious what others' experiences have been like. I'm in the U.S. by the way.

I Bombed the Citadel, and, Oh Boy!

>!I admit, I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction. It's not that it's unrealistic, it's that I thought we'd land back at the ruined Citadel and the BoS would say something stupid like, "Somebody destroyed the Citadel. What do we do now?" And then the DLC would end....LOL I like that they're my new enemy though and learned that they die pretty easily. I guess that explains why they die relatively quickly to the Raiders in the Library without my help.!<

Updated Rules - Read Them

Everyone, I've updated the Sub's Rules. For the longest time, this Sub had only one Rule and I relied on everyone's common sense not to break obvious but unwritten rules. Unfortunately, common sense is not very common these days so I've had to add additional Rules.

On a related note, I'm an ardent believer in free speech, but I've had to ban more people in the past 2 weeks than I had in the nearly 18 months I've been this Sub's Mod before then. Moving forward, I'm going to start swinging the ban hammer more often as some people here can't be bothered embracing common sense and common courtesies.

Factions Fighting One Another?

The FO3 Wiki mentions a lot of the time that if one faction like the Outcasts crosses paths with the BoS then they'll fight each other. Has anyone actually witnessed this in any of their games? I've seen Outcasts fight random robots and creatures in the wasteland, but I've never seen them fight BoS, Enclave, or even Raiders. (Ok, there is a scripted fight with Raiders in front of Ft. Independence).

Actually, has anyone witnessed Enclave vs Raiders, Super Mutants, Outcasts, Talon Company (I ask because I noticed an Enclave position to the side of the Capitol Building, but they didn't engage the Mutants or Talon within their line of sight. But they did fire on me....LOL

How about BoS fighting anyone other than Super Mutants (or the Enclave during a quest)? I do think BoS does fight Talon at Ft. Bannister in a Broken Steel quest.

I've seen Raiders fight Super Mutants in the Bethesda Ruins though.

Project Impurity Implications?

Has anyone done the Project Impurity route by infecting Project Purity with the FEV? It's my understanding that Broken Steel will still continue the game but that Aqua Pura can't be consumed by the player. I also believe that the player will see sick people in all of the medical offices. But are all the Broken Steel quests and side quests still playable? The Wiki isn't too clear on the far-reaching implications.

The Missile Launcher: Pointless?

I've come to the conclusion that the Missile Launcher is pretty useless, especially given its heavy weight and slow reload. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but it doesn't seem to do a whole lot of damage to the more powerful enemies. While using it against weaker enemies is pretty pointless when a hunting rifle will achieve the same purpose. It is a lot of fun to use though.

Fact Checking Analyst

I don't currently work for WeLo, but I received an email invite to take the assessments for the Fact Checking Analyst position. Am I correct to assume this is for the Factuality group/position with the tasks that have an AET of 3-4 minutes? Or this a similar/different project?

Heavy Incinerator: Fun!

All these years of playing FO3 off and on, I've largely avoided the main quest until now. And I have to say, the Heavy Incinerator is so much fun! Not the most effective weapon in confined areas, but lobbing fireballs from extremely long distances is so much fun and satisfying. I've always wished for a grenade launcher in FO3 so for me, this is the closest thing, but with even a longer range.

I had so much fun taking out the raiders at the Bed and Breakfast from a couple of hundred yards away while laughing my ass off. And it's very effect against all those Enclave outposts found throughout the Wasteland. I also love how some of the dead bodies continue to smolder afterwards; but that might be true for all flame weapons.

On a sidenote, the main quests for Broken Steel are kind of underwhelming and not interesting, although the side quests are a lot of fun and pretty funny. I can definitely sympathize with, and relate to, Billingsly. He's definitely the only BoS character I like. He should have joined the Outcasts. 🤣

Completed The Pitt

Just wanted to say that I played and completed The Pitt for the first time and really enjoyed it. After playing Point Lookout, it was definitely a lot easier, and probably manageable for lower level players. Although I think PL is the slightly better DLC. As far as the "choice," to me, siding with Ashur was an easy decision; especially after learning about his background and that of his wife. But I can see why some players would side with Werner.

The only item I took back with me to the Wasteland is the Metal Blaster, which is devastating to most enemies. I also brought back the Perforator, but haven't found a need for it, so I stored it at my house.

I just wish there was was some new dialogue for the next time I see Elder Lyons. Something like, "Hey, Elder Lyons. I met your buddy Scribe Ashur and he asked me to tell you to GOFY!" 🤣

Maps Visual Design Relevance Evaluator (US)

I've been "selected" for this project and just curious if anyone here has any insight about it? Seems like it's probably a short-term project, but I was wondering if anyone has started yet.

Takoma Park District

Been playing this game off and on for nearly 20 years and last night was the first time I ever visited the Takoma Park District. I gotta say, that was a lot of fun and felt like a side-quest of its own. Interesting backstory; All the usual villains (except Raiders); a Behemoth; Artillery support; Hidden area. Just wanted to thank whoever recommended a few weeks ago about checking out the area.
