Do you think my skills are good enough to start custom pet portrait?

Hi all,

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm about to start selling small paintings to fund courses and mentoring. This would be the first one, so I'd rather get it right before it goes up.

Oil on paper mounted to MDF panel, 20×20 cm (8×8 in). What would you push further? And a practical question: do you paint the edges on panels like this, or leave them raw?

I'm currently learning oil painting and i'd love your opinion. Do you think this type of painting could sell? My goal is simple, it's just to earn enough to cover the cost of materials, tutorials so i can keep learning.
