And, an ICE agent with a long history of collaborating with Washington cops, who regularly posts anti-immigrant rhetoric on social media, is set to testify in the case.
I’m just wondering if the border agents are shitty enough to escalate in that way.
Like, for example, let’s say a US person was denied entry for a summer trip and had to pay $3000 for an apartment they never even got to stay in.
Would the American CPB ever do something retaliatory to a Canadian like forcing them to get a hotel room they weren’t gonna stay in? To try and like, prove a point to the other border patrol?
Kind of like a prank war? But you’re playing with the lives of normal citizens?
Just wondering what the work environment is like.
I’m not stupid, OK. I get it. Supply and demand.
A town like Ferndale, WA is close to Bellingham. And Bellingham is a nice city, with stuff that people who work for tech companies in Seattle want to live next to.
I get why real estate developers just kinda decide that it’s all the same place and that the price for a home in Ferndale should be astronomically higher than it was even 5 years ago.
But it makes me upset.
It makes me fucking upset that the culture of these places is upended and tossed in the dumpster fire because no one can afford to raise a family in their own town anymore.
It makes me upset that a working class person new to the area can’t even afford to RENT a home unless it’s a cookie cutter condo for way more than it’s worth.
Word on the street is that the ICE people are using drones. Be on the look-out and listen-out for drone noises.
If you see one, point and laugh as loud as you can. ICE hates that. It makes them sad when you laugh at them, and point. It reminds them of being harassed as a child.
