From the posts here I see that many people reschedule their biometrics appointment to an earlier date. Is there any advantage to doing that?

For example, does having biometrics completed earlier shorten the overall processing time? Does USCIS begin processing the application only after biometrics are taken, or does the biometrics appointment date not really make a difference?

I see that most people with an April RD got their I-485 biometrics appointments scheduled on Friday. Is there anyone who is still waiting?

Mostly biometrics appointment letters are issued on Friday. I remember reading a comment that said they received a silent update on a Friday, but their biometrics appointment letter didn't appear in their account's Documents section until Monday.

For those who have gone through this, did your biometrics appointment letter show up on the same day as the update, or was there a delay before it appeared in your account?

I just noticed a silent update a couple of weeks after the initial update on RD. The biometrics appointment has not been scheduled yet. Any idea what could that be?
