Best ebike for my wife?

My wife currently has a Pedago. Maybe 7-8 years old. It's kind of big and heavy. Clunky you might say. She'd like to get a new ebike but we don't know a lot about what brands and models would be a good fit. The bike would be used mostly for going to the beach. (San Diego) Ideally we would get a surfboard side rack for it. It doesn't need to be fast, just going to the beach and running local errands. Fat tires would be nice. Would like something nice, not something cheap. Hopefully not as heavy as the Pedago. What would you recommend?

Hammer not dropping all the way back while key is held after being played.

I have a key where the hammer is not dropping down as far as it should if the key is held after playing. In this video I play (and hold) a key that is working correctly, then play (and hold) the problematic key. Note that the second key's hammer doesn't drop as far as the first key's hammer. All the hammers, except the hammer of the problematic key, drop the same amount as the first key's hammer. I do this twice in the video.

What is keeping the hammer from dropping down as far as it should.

Title says it. I'm looking for pieces to work on that feature 2 against 3 polyrhythms. Medium to advanced difficulty.

Grinding disks for aluminum?

Do you use regular grinding disks when working on aluminum, or do you have disks that are specially made for aluminum? Last time I was at Home Depot and Harbor Freight I looked for aluminum specific disks but didn't see any. Does a regular disk clog up if you use it on aluminum?

How come piano soundboards go bad with age but other string instruments get better with age?

From what I understand, piano soundboards dry out as they age and get a dull tone. But violins and guitars get a richer tone as they age. (They should also dry out, so it shouldn't be due to the drying out.) Is it really true that soundboards get dull and don't vibrate as well with age, or is there some legitimate physics to why they sound duller as they age?

What's with the pre-trial hearing of Charlie Kirk's murderer?

I'm familiar with the idea that often before trial there are short simple hearings. (ie where someone enters a plea or bail is set.) But I've never heard of a pre-trial hearing where the prosecutor presents several days worth of evidence. What is the point of this hearing? Is it to determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial? Was there a grand jury hearing too? Do all states have these multi-day pre-trial hearings? Any explanation about why I'm seeing so much about this hearing but don't recall ever hearing about a hearing like this for other prominent cases?

Explain Allen Charge (Palisades Fire Trial)

Today there was a mistrial declared in the trial of the person accused of setting the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles in January 2025. Before the mistrial was declared, the jurors told the judge they were deadlocked, and the defense asked the judge to issue an Allen charge. I'm curious about the logistics of this. Why would the defense ask for this? What sort of things could the judge add after the trial to change jurors minds that wouldn't be coercion of the holdouts? Is an Allen charge very common?

When rebuilding a grand action what parts do you buy?

If you were doing a full rebuild on a grand piano action, what parts would you buy? I'm assuming you'd replace hammers and the felts at a minimum. But would you replace stuff like the whippen, the jack, the repetition lever, the back check, etc. if they were not broken?

Can you buy full sets ready to be swapped in? (ie could a person buy a full Steinway B action or all the parts, ready to be swapped in?) Maybe just a full set of all the felts you would need to replace? Is replacing felts more trouble than it is worth, would you just replace the full assembly?

Is this wiring legal (California USA)

These wires (white, black and ground) run from one electrical outlet box to another. They are in the wall and will be wall boarded up. Do I need a conduit running between the two electrical outlet boxes, or is it okay for these wires to run without being in a conduit? (I'm pretty sure the wires are sufficient gauge, just wondering if they need to be in a conduit.)
