What type of steel would be used on a lower front control arm mount of an SUV (2006 jeep liberty). Would it be mild steel or HSS? What yield strength. Atleast approximately.
How many times can you bend and straighten HSLA steel with yield strength of lets say 60 ksi without significsnt loss of strength compared to mild steel with 30 ksi? Lets assume the bending radius is large enough.
Im planning to cold straighten this bracket just by a few mm so that it doesnt rub on the bushing and so that control arm can be removed freely. I dont want to stress the metal further unnecessarily. I'm also going to replace the bushing and the bolt. Any better way to do it? Any advice?
