How many of you ladies get birthday presents from your kids? What does your family usually do on your birthday?
I'm a big present giver to my grandkids. Gifts to my own kids are hit or miss, only because they live far away.
But, sometimes, I feel that my kids could put some effort into acknowledging my birthday. Something more than a text or phone call. Maybe a card? Or maybe have their kids send me a card?
Is this the way it is when we get older, that our birthdays are "allowed" to be ignored?
I know, I'm going to be told to grow up, but there have been years when no one said anything!!

Wow! I didnt think there'd be any choice. I just picked up my Rx and had 2 choices of needles....so i opted for the smalled gauge: .32. What do you use?
I'm hoping these generic needles will fit. They're called "5-Bevel tip Pen Needles intended to be used with a pen injection device for the subcutaneous injection of insulin." I'm assuming treiparatide can also be used?
Tomorrow morning will be my first injection. Ugh. yeah, I'm a little nbervous, but I know it'll become very routine very soon.

Soon, I will get my first Rx of Forteo and apparently I won't be having a consultation appt with my doctor to get some instructions on how to inject myself. I'm not concerned about any pain, etc. Gotta love an HMO!! I just thought I'd ask for some advice, tips, suggestions, pointers, instructions on how to do this correctly. Any funny stories??
Also, has anyone travelled with theirs in a cooler? I travel a lot and having to keep this med refrigerated has me a little worried. I've heard just putting it in a cooler is fine.

I'm sure they've been discussed, but I just don't remember any discussion about the possible side effects from all the bone meds (both bisphosphonates and anabolic agents). I see people posting things like,"try to avoid taking any meds for your osteoporosis" or "you don't want to take the meds because of the side effects". But, as far as I can remember, no side effects have ever been discussed. I'd like to know exactly what side effects have been experienced and from which medications. Thank you.
