Longest commute.

What’s the longest you’ve driven to a site one way? I had a really chill post that was 62 miles one way all highway.
I was making $21hr. Did that for about a year.

Don’t even try.

I went in for reassignment today which is also Walk in interview days in my area and the amount of applicants I seen up in there in Crocs, Tank-tops and sweats was wild. So we just not even trying to look decent for interviews nowadays? Then you wonder why they don’t hire you. 😂

Got hired for Data Center site.

Recently got hired for a Data Center site paying $20hr but that’s all I know. I told them I need a specific schedule and they said they can work with me. I’m supposed to attend orientation this Tuesdays, I hope they don’t try to pull a switcheroo on me and say they only have overnights when all said and done. Anybody do Data Center for them, what’s it like?

I might just leave.

Thinking about jumping ship from Allied to a Securitas data center spot closer to home. Pays a whole $1 more too, now I’ll be able to put that Lambo on layaway. 😂🤔

2006 Scion XB. 275k

My XB started acting like it’s going to stall out recently when I come to a stop at a red light after driving for about 20 minutes straight on the highway. Only does it if I have the A/c on, if I turn the A/c off as soon as it starts sputtering at the light, the sputtering goes away.

What do you guys think, dirty throttle body, compressor going out? I am getting some squealing from the belt when I first turn on the car and crank up the A/c then it just goes away after a minute. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lowering Springs or Coilovers?

Looking to get some recommendations from other XB owners. I have an 06 which I use as a commuter mainly on the highway, I’m looking to lower it a bit to give it a better stance and possibly better handling out on the open road, I’ll more than likely stick with 15” wheels also. Any recommendations on brands or one stop shops in the Az area that would install and do an alignment would be appreciated.

Finally off weekends!

Been with Allied for exactly 1 year and finally landed a sweet M-F with decent pay, single guard post sitting in air conditioning, a good client and close to my house. Yes I had to put up with a couple sh!t posts during that year but I think it’s all part of the process, if you land a favorable schedule right off the bat then you’re lucky.

Overall allied has been good to me and better than a lot of other companies I’ve considered working for in a few ways. They have free uniforms, weekly pay, better pay than most other unarmed guard companies tbh, hella job posts, EHub and Lisa apps are very convenient and helpful, pay is always on point. if you stick around and act right you’ll get promoted to Sup easily, but some ppl can’t even get to work on time and constantly call out or late.

Battery feedback.

So what’s everyone paying for their 12v battery to be replaced in their hybrids?

Has anyone had to replace their Hybrid battery, if yes at what mileage and cost?

Really considering getting a used 2018 Hybrid Ex with 67k miles. It’s my first Hybrid and has no warranty from Kia anymore so I can’t help to be a bit nervous about the batteries going out early especially because I live in brutal heat weather.

I may be overthinking it too much at this point. Any feedback would be appreciated. TIA

2018 Kia Niro Hybrid

Hello everyone. I’m buying a used 2018 Niro with 60k miles. This will be my first Kia and Hybrid, thought I’d jump on here real quick and see what other owners of similar models have to say about the good and bad.

I see nothing but good things online about these cars and appear to be highly slept on, everyone thinks Prius when shopping for a Hybrid but I’m going a different route. I will be doing a PPI at a local shop before signing my life away. TIA
