Dread him, run from him, Hank arrives all the same

Hank was down heading into last week. The haters thought he was dead. And then just like that, Pats beat the Bills and Maye looks great. He’s back.

You’d think he couldn’t possibly have a better week than last week. Yet somehow he has a Sunday that even the most dedicated members of #TeamHank couldn’t have dreamed of.

  1. Drake Maye absolutely balls out. Probably the best QB performance of the week.

  2. Eagles lose in the most embarrassing//tragic way possible after Max (incorrectly) berated Hank for the “division is ours to lose” take.

  3. Big Cats Bears put up 7 and get absolutely destroyed by the Packers after he spent the whole week glazing Ben Johnson for being an offensive savant.

  4. And lastly, the most delicious of all of them, the Jayden Daniels disaster. PFT spends so much time trying to tear Hank/Maye down. He’s clearly insecure about it. Can’t wait for them to break down that game.

To all the Hank haters of the world, #TeamHank is back up baby.

Hank Big Dom troll

Shoutout to Hank for not standing for the Big Don propaganda. He’s the only real one. Max getting so defensive about big dom being an attention whore is so funny. Team Hank baby.

How old is too old to try and crash at the frat house?

If someone’s coming back to visit and spend a weekend on campus, how old is too old to crash at the frat house?

I say 23. Beyond 1 year out is weird.

On hold for over an hour

BofA flagged a CC transaction of mine as suspicious so now I can’t use it. Mobile banking app directed me to call 1-800 number to solve it, no other option.

I called and was immediately put on hold and have was for over an hour before I had to give up as I had to be somewhere. Never even spoke to a human or robot. Just straight to hold and there I stayed.

How do they not have the system that allows them to call back once a rep is free? This is absolutely insanity and honestly probably enough to make me want to switch banks.

One of the best world cups of all time - without a doubt

Seriously. Apart from Trump being a dingus which at the end of the day had zero effect on anything. What more could you possibly ask for? Maybe a little recency bias but I can’t recall a tournament being this fun and interesting both inside and outside the white lines.

Crowds have been phenomenal.

Cape Verde!!!

So many games have been absolute thrillers.

The Scots coming to Boston and having the time of their lives was hilarious (and so many other fans had a great time there too).

Everyone visiting the U.S. and learning it isn’t the hellhole that social media tells you it is has been wonderful to see.

The stadiums are all fantastic (and nobody had waste billions or die to build them!)

EDIT: once again a massive lack of reading comprehension in this sub. I said ONE OF. Not the best ever. Relax everyone. Just admit it’s been a fantastic tournament and almost everyone has had a really good time.

Messi no-call vs. Balogun Red card. FIFA is inconsistent for more reasons than one.

On the Messi play that could have been given a red. Obviously they didn’t because they want to protect the golden boy and TV Ratings (I say this as a Messi fan). But they potentially just completely screwed themselves with this Balogun red.

Nobody is saying Flo is Messi. And they aren’t going to lose viewers because he won’t be playing against Belgium. But, this could have been almost just as disastrous as losing Messi.

I’m probably overrating how many Americans are watching. But it’s got the largest population of any team in the tournament. By far. So, surely they are driving a big chunk of viewers. Being the host nation is also adding to that excitement so they’re contributing even more viewers than normal.

We (The US) are also probably the biggest bandwagon fanbase. We’re into soccer right now because the US is in it. I’ll be honest, after that red card I thought we were gonna lose and I was going to be so OUT on this World Cup. I’ve made an effort to watch every game so far (non U.S. and U.S. games), but if the Americans are out then my interest level probably goes down by 50%. And I bet most Americans feel very similarly.

FIFA risked losing a massive chunk of viewers for the round of 16 game. And the U.S. certainly would have a much better chance of beating Belgium with Balogun than without him. If they got to the quarterfinals, it would be the most watched soccer game in U.S. history. But suspending Flo for this game vs. Belgium might cost them that.
