Just cast off my Scrappy Beetlejuice Mitts by Kay Jones

My lovely husband asked for some fingerless mitts to wear while using the computer at home during the winter and thus, these babies were born! I really like Kay's pattern. It is really clear and concise. She also includes an excellent video showing how to cleanly close the gap at the thumb and it is so good!

I used three different Opal sock yarns I had in stash and knit 10 rounds of each color for a very scrappy look. This was a really fun project and this pattern will definitely be my go-to for fingerless mitts in the future!

Yarn: All colorways by Zwerger Garn Opal

Colorways: no. 3206 Blinde Venus, no. 3203 Use Public Transport Save the City, & no.5433 Red Vineyard Near Arles

Pattern: Beetlejuice Mitts by @bryonybears on insta aka Kay Jones from the Bakery Bears

Are we witches?! Why is knitting so magical?

Decided I finally wanted to tackle intarsia so I cast on the Rust and Rhythm scarf from Anna Husemann and Hobbii Design. Turns out the hardest part of this project was color selection! Intarsia is actually dead easy! I also feel soooo witchy when I learn a new skill. Like, I made that with two sticks and some string. We knitters (crafty folk in general really) are so freaking cool!

Yarn is mostly Korean dyers (let me know if you want specifics, but the purple is Cascade Yarns Heritage sock yarn in no. 5632 Dark Plum. It is sooooo soft. I love that line of yarn. All the yarns are fingering held double.

Have a wonderful day everyone! ♡

Newest FO: Halloween socks!

My most recent FO is this pair of striped Halloween socks! It is never not Halloween season in my heart, so the Halloween knitting never stops around here!

I dyed this self striping yarn myself. It was a bit of a hassel setting up the mega long skein, but so~~~ nice to just knit away and not have to worry about tons of ends and counting rows, etc. I'm really happy with how the colors turned out and I can definitely see more self striping yarn in my future! Happy very very early Halloween!

My watermelon socks done!

These watermelon socks are potentially the best socks I've ever knit! Start to finish, this was a really fun process and I'm feeling even more inspired to dye up some creative yarns now!

I dyed up this sock set and initially intended to do large color blocks of the pink and red, but switched to stripes at the last minute and I'm so pleased with how they turned out. I just dyed the yarn hobby style with food coloring so I'm hoping they don't fade too much with time. I also think I need to invest in some proper dyeing equipment as dyeing yarn is just as much fun as knitting with it! I used Ashford yarns bare 4 ply sock yarn for this. I initially thought the yarn was super duper light fingering, but it bloomed well after a wash and took the dye really nicely as well. The yarn is also quite soft but really warm like a more rustic yarn would be. A great balance of warm and durable feeling but also not itchy at all!

Thank you again to everyone who commented on my WIP post as well! Your encouragement made me even more excited to knit these up!

Pattern: Vanilla Socks with 5 row stripes (fingering weight)

I had this idea for watermelon themed socks and dyed the yarn myself. I'm not a pro, just food coloring dye in my kitchen, but this is turning out even better than I imagined!

My Dori is about 4 months old and he suddenly started marking everything, everywhere. He also now tries to shove my clothes into his pouch every free roaming time lol. I have to hold the clothes tight against my skin so he will give up and move on. This and the marking just started a week ago. Is this a normal part of their development? What does the clothing stealing mean lol? Thanks in advance!

Pic of the little thief included.
