Movie Suggestion for Homesickness to Cheer Up

Today I moved into my college apartment as a freshman 3 hours away from home. I couldn’t wait to meet my 3 roommates, and waited excitedly for this day for the past 2 months. Today I met them, and while they are really nice and acknowledge me the 3 of them seem a lot more extroverted than I am so I am often quietly listening to them ramble on and on. I know it’s only the first day when things are unfamiliar and can change after a week, but I feel a bit homesick after today. Luckily I brought my TV so that I can escape from reality for the time being. Anyone have any good movie or show recommendations to cure this?

The Twin Towers appear in a 1998 Indian film’s song, just a few years before 9/11

These two clips are from the Tamil song ‘Enakke Enakka’ featured in the 1998 South Indian film ‘Jeans,’ starring Aishwarya Rai (Miss World 1994) and Tamil actor Prashanth, the movie taking place in America. Indian films tend to have elaborate music video style song-and-dance sequences incorporated into them. In this song, there is a brief shot of both the actors dancing in front of the Twin Towers. Something about them happily dancing in front of the Twin Towers in these shots is quite emotionally poignant, knowing what would happen just a couple years later. This movie and song was culturally significant to the 90s in South India, which is sad considering that the towers’ demolition, in a way, is often referenced by Americans as marking the end of the 90s. Seeing them here like this captures a time that is gone forever. I have included a link to the video on YouTube in case anyone is curious. The Twin Towers can be seen at the 0:33 mark and 0:55 mark in the video.

Lobby Scent at Hilton Resorts World Las Vegas

I am currently staying at the Hilton Resorts World in Las Vegas, and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of diffuser or fragrance is used in the lobby. I have seen other posts discussing Hilton’s signature scent but I’m curious if the Resorts World uses the same fragrance or has its own custom scent. I would have asked the front desk but I thought I’d check here in case anyone already knows. I’ve included a picture of the lobby where the scent seems to be the strongest.

Getting attached to certain movie scenes

I know maladaptive dreaming can involve getting deeply invested in fictional worlds, but I am curious if this is something in particular that people do too that is an iteration of maladaptive dreaming. I have this odd tendency to play specific scenes from movies I like on YouTube, mostly action or thriller movies from the 90s and 2000s and act out parts of the scene over and over in my room as if I’m saying it in a situation in real life. Usually it is some pivotal or memorable dialogue said by a dominant female character in the movie (I’m a female). I’d love to know if anyone relates or experiences something similar.

Friends that don't respect your time

My friends are not very respectful of other people's time; for instance we were planning to do grad pics as a group at our school, and we have already changed the date 4 times because of weather or people who keep cancelling last minute. It has been almost one month since we graduated. Also due to inclement weather throughout the week we can only take photos earlier at around 1-2 pm, which is still too early for them because that's around the time they wake up. And their excuse for cancelling is "that's too early we can't wake up" like c'mon you can literally wake up early for one day. This isn't even far away it's just at our school. Also because it is early my dad has to take off from work to take pictures for us, and I have to explain to them like children that my parents had to get permission to take leave from work. Also their parents are too lazy to drive anywhere or do the favor despite not working or having any commitments at all so my dad has had to pick them up for almost every occasion that we plan something. They are my very close friends throughout high school and we've had great times together but the thought of even planning anything with them just infuriates me because they always come late and I don't know what to do about it. Unfortunately I really wanted to get grad pics so I will have to deal with it somehow. Anyways, sorry for the rant!
