Living in Almere, considering a move to Lelystad — how does it compare?

Hey all,

Requesting for help here!

Quick background: I'm an expat, in the Netherlands for about 3 years now. Spent most of that time in Amstelveen, then moved to Almere about 6 months ago. I work in Amsterdam, so commute is a big part of my decision-making. I'm looking at an apartment on Agoraweg in the Waagpassage area of Lelystad: Agoraweg 113 — 81 m², asking €350,000 k.k. (originally €405,000), which works out to about €4,321/m². My questions for people who know the area: Does €4,321/m² sound fair for Lelystad city center, or expensive for what this area usually goes for? How's the Waagpassage/center neighborhood to live in — safety, noise, general vibe? Overall — worth it at this price, or would you hold out for something else? Would appreciate any honest input, especially from people living in or near Lelystad center

Buying a apartment in Lelystad near City Center- eyeing Agoraweg (Waagpassage) in Lelystad — thoughts on the area and this price

Hey all,

Need your help to make a decision.

First Time Buyer Here: Would You Trust a Fully Renovated 1910 Apartment?

Hi everyone,

I am considering buying an apartment in The Hague and would love to hear opinions from people who have experience with renovated or "flipped" apartments.

The apartment is in a building from 1910, but it has been completely renovated and I would be the first person to live in it after the renovation. The seller has renovated everything including the kitchen, bathroom, floors, insulation, heating system, electrical work and finishes. It also has a 6 month warranty from the seller.

As a first time buyer, I am trying to understand the risks and benefits of this type of purchase.

Some questions I have:

  1. What has been your experience with flipped apartments in the Netherlands?

  2. Are there common issues that only become visible after living in the apartment for a few months?

  3. How much confidence would you place in a 6 month warranty?

  4. For a building dating back to 1910, what hidden issues should I be most concerned about even if the interior is fully renovated?

  5. Would you generally prefer a renovated apartment where everything is new, or an older apartment that still needs updating but where you can see the original condition yourself?

  6. If you were the first occupant after a full renovation, what inspections or checks would you carry out before buying?

For context, I plan to live in the apartment myself for at least 5 to 10 years rather than buying it purely as an investment.

Any experiences, positive or negative, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rivierenbuurt-Noord /Weteringkade near Den Haag HS, Centraal and ~100m from the Red Light District. Would You Buy This Renovated Apartment Near Den Haag HS for €350k? Need Honest Local Opinions

Hi everyone,

I recently viewed this apartment and really liked it:

https://www.funda.nl/detail/koop/den-haag/appartement-weteringkade-56-b/80824162/?utm\_source=funda&utm\_medium=app&utm\_campaign=share-listing-modal

The apartment itself seems great, but I have mixed feelings about the location. It's very close to both Den Haag HS and Den Haag Centraal, but also only about 100m from the red light district.

For people who know the area:

• How is Weteringkade / Stationsbuurt as a place to live?

• Do you feel safe walking around at night?• Is the area improving?

• Would you personally buy an apartment here?

Also, the asking price is €350,000 for a renovated 75m² apartment. What makes me hesitate is that the property was bought for €175,000 just 5 months ago, then underwent a complete renovation, and is now being sold for €350,000. Does that sound reasonable for this area and level of renovation, or does it feel overpriced?

Would love to hear honest opinions from people who live nearby or know the neighbourhood well.

Thanks!

I really like some apartments in Laakhaven-West. But I want to make sure if this is a good area to look in the Den Haag or is considered unsafe or dirty?

Please let me know your thoughts because I read mixed reviews online.

Is Almere Haven a Good Long Term Investment Compared to Almere Poort?

Hi everyone,

I’m 27 and an expat trying to buy my first apartment in the Netherlands. I’ve been actively searching for almost 6 months now, mainly in .

The market there feels pretty crazy at the moment, so I’ve also started looking into .

This is one of the apartments I’m currently considering:

https://www.funda.nl/detail/koop/almere/appartement-hofmark-361/80823231/

I’d really appreciate some honest opinions from people who know Almere well.

Would moving to Almere Haven be a good decision, or is it better to stick to the newer parts of Almere like Poort, Stad, or Buiten?

I’m mainly curious about:

• Future property value growth in Almere Haven
• Overall livability and vibe compared to newer areas
• Safety and infrastructure
• Commute experience to Amsterdam/Utrecht
• Whether Haven still has good long term potential or if most growth will stay concentrated in Poort

Also, if anyone has thoughts specifically about the Hofmark area or this apartment itself, I’d love to hear them.

Would really appreciate advice from homeowners, renters, or anyone familiar with the Almere housing market.
