Munchs Oddysee

I just beat this for the 1st time the other day. Never played another Oddworld game, never even heard of this series before. Online I just see mostly discourse over how underbaked this game is, but having never played the others I don’t have that frame of comparison.

I’m not really into platforming games, and never had an experience quite like this. In the beginning I was questioning weather I was enjoying the game, but by the end found my self really caring about the plot and characters haha, even if lacking sometimes I think it’s dripping with style, and thought the game was good wacky fun and rewarding to beat in the end.

Wondering, what do yall think of it?? Is this a gem to some??

I’m sure yall would recommend to play the others, but don’t have a ps1/2. Are the pc ports of them glitchy like Munchs?? I played on my xbox and it looked/sounded great. Cheers guys thanks!

Id love Feedback from everyone!!!

This is my 2nd time trying to make a song like this, and would love to hear what people have to say
Also I wanted to record the project, but it was overloading logic haha

  1. I seem to have a hard time setting up side chain audio ducking whatever it’s called between the kicks and everything else, it seems like I can’t get the compressors to be reactive enough, and the sound can’t “come back” quick enough in the offbeat, and it just makes everything quieter. Maybe it is still helping overall

  2. The synths I used a pack for but the kicks I made from a 909 from scratch, eq distort eq distort ect. My question, does anybody have any advice on knowing what frequencies to isolate? When? Boost and reduce when? What order for the eqs, do I focus on high frequencies first or last?? I followed a very not in depth yt tutorial on how to make these kicks, and got this close by guessing, but I want a more concrete understanding on how ppl make these hardstyle kicks from scratch, and where do I really get this information??

  3. how do you guys think the mixing is? Too bassy? Too thin? Sound fx too loud? Melodies buried in the background too much? Or is it balanced well?

Would love to hear yalls feedback if there’s something for me to learn, I’d love to get good at it and make some real bangers someday. Thx yall :)
